if we exempt the Baltimore game, that's still just one time in the last three years. I don't think we'll come close to scoring 30 points this season. Our main weapons on offense are Jones and Barkley running, and teams have not surprisingly figured out how to stop them.
Understand your point the part about you don’t think will come close to scoring 30 this season makes no sense. Even in your post you acknowledge we could have against Baltimore. We also scored 27 against the packers and 24 a couple more times.
Not when you consider that the gameplans for 3 years have been to keep the games within one score in the 4th quarter and try to steal the game at the end. Fewer possessions, fewer turnovers, no receivers, bad pass protection ... fewer points.
the days of Peyton Manning pre-snap reading a D and Marino throwing at the old drop back in zone and break on the ball shit that no longer works are over. Something the Giants are/were too slow to recognize.
Until the NFL changes rules in favor of offense again.
Not sure why tha tis important, I am happy if the Giants win 6 - 3!
Have seen enough from Jones to see him for what he is. The poor Int in week one, to that poor throw on 4th down with the game in the balance, I doubt they hitch their wagon to him going forward. I could see a guy like Jones going to a established team with an aging out QB and doing well. But I think our new management will want to go their own way just my opinion
Pauline, there’s no qb in the draft who is better than DJ. So I doubt
for that. The defense has been good at keeping points down for the most part. Giants are running a lot and have had lots of long time consuming drives. When they have won this has mostly been the case.
that the only games we will score 30 will be those games where we get major contributions from either our ST or the D takes a strip sack to the house or generates a pick six or two.

DJ at best will be a good backup QB in the NFL. Maybe for the Giants he could be the transition QB if a QB is available in 2023 Draft. This scenario assumes Daboll and Schoen want him with a fair contract acceptable to all parties.
Sticking to that. These teams play odd games agai st each other and I think the GMEN played super conservative in the late second half against Dallas to protect Jones and Oline health wise.. They looked at tomorrow as the start of the run to the finish line..

You see this is what I am talking about -- jvm -- you are a knowledgeable poster, but that's unrealistic. The Giants are just not going to score 30 points tomorrow. Not the way they are built right now.
It's going to be a grind it out game on both sides. Washington is actually built more to score than the Giants are, but in this case, these are two teams that play each other twice a year. They both play a similar grind out the clock game.

It’s down 1.4 points a game from last year and still a top 25 scoring year all time.

Let me understand, so you think Daboll and Schoen are going to make their decision on DJ based on 2 interceptions. Especially when he's only thrown 4 on the year so far.
Other than not picking up Jones 5th year option, which had to be done
Before they had seen Jones play a meaningful minute, nothing Schoen/Daboll has said or done suggests that they have made a decision on Jones. Just the opposite. They haven’t benched him for even one series except when he was hurt.
Jones will start for the rest of the year, and we will know when they know.

This sentiment has no place on a thread about Daniel Jones…..it s too dam logical 👍
will be HEAVILLY influenced by these last 6 games. He has shown he can be a "functional" QB, bottom 3rd starter in the league type. Now, can he lift his level and the team's level and be a "winning" QB. He gets his first chance Sunday.
This doesn't mean he has to light it up for 400 yards, it means make the plays when they are there and lead the team to a win. That's what Schoen and Daboll need to see to offer him the kind of contract he will want.

Schoen/Daboll don't have access to film of Daniel Jones during his career at Duke and the last three years with the Giants to watch even a meaningful minute?
You're right. I forgot about that game.
This is not a team that is built to score a lot.
Scoring 30 points is not the formula that the Giants rely upon for success.
There may be a time when the offense can score 30 points with regularity, but for that to occur the Giants need quality playmakers.

By design.

It could happen...

technically....Fackrell had a defensive TD in that game, the offense hasn't score 30 going all the way back to 2019.
It s not important, just a stat shared with no context
Running the ball as a focal point isn’t going to do it unless your defense is creating a ton of turnovers.

Wow, that is surprising.
