Much as I would like to see Senegal and Poland advance, just to reward the underdogs, this looks like two relatively lopsided games in terms of talent. It should result in a very interesting France v. England battle next week that will be worth watching for even casual soccer fans. France is loaded even with some major injuries. England is a team filled with talent and a record of underachieving. Not certain how many American fans appreciate the significance of the US tie/dominance in the game with England this week.

Only teams that can stop them won't be in it until the Semifinal (Spain) and Final (Argentina or Brazil). England is more talented than Senengal, but I call an upset right now with Senegal, sans Mané, pulling off the upset against England today (gonna try and watch the Giants and this match simultaneously). Looking forward to another fun day :-)

meh, in part, but England was already sitting on house money with the big goal differential vs Iran, and with no need to play aggressively, it didn't, played to contain.
Glad he made the second, despite his odd approach, lol. Les Bleus looking tough to beat, especially with the best player in the world playing for them. They're rocketing past the winner of the England-Senegal match.
Just imagine if France had Benzena,Kanye and Pogba playing in the WC
Backbreaking 2nd goal allowed by Senegal just before the half (**sounds familiar**). Not sure why the ref didn't call the half as the two minutes of extra time had passed at the 47:16 mark.
England broke the backs of Senegal with their second goal just seconds before the the first half ended. That leaves Morocco as the only African qualifying team remaining in the tourney and they've got their neighbors Spain on Tuesday.
The Round of 16 continues for two more days: tomorrow and Tuesday. On the docket for tomorrow we've got Japan vs. Croatia in the first game followed by Brazil vs. South Korea. Brazil is a clear favorite in Game #2, but the first game will be the one to watch. At least there won't be a Giants game to interfere with the World Cup.
The first 4 of the final 8 are all "usual suspects" in England-France-Argentina-Netherlands. Let's see if there are any surprises tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to the French beating the piss out of the English when they play in their Quarterfinal match. Argentina and Holland will be fun; Argentina's gotta be favored in that one, but Holland is capable of beating them.

Yeah, Holland was really impressive vs USA, they could knock Argentina off, that’ll be a terrific match.
