There should be a salary cap

Just for QBs. In a few years the Top QBs will be making close to 75 million a year

$225M according to their 2023 Cap Summary. It’s been that way for some time I believe.
with the new tv deals

and the expected new sunday ticket deal - the cap is supposed to exceed $330 million by 2030
The system will compensate for QB overpaying

Must be Biden inflation act money to raise the cap.
I suspect smart teams will have to refocus on defenses to counteract needing 40 mill a year for garden-variety QBs. There is way too much money in offenses and you are gonna pay a guy that much to sit on the bench after they get hit?

I actually like that QBs make what they make. It really pushes franchises to make tough choices. If you want to spend $75m, be my guest. Have fun filling out your roster.
The salary cap represents a percentage of the NFL's total revenues.

An increase in the cap means that the NFL's revenues have increased in in proportion. How nice for them.
What has the NFL done for you lately, other than making it easier to lay bets on their games?

I hear you on this. The position should be carved out. Or leave it to the team to decide which position/player they want to carve out of the cap each year.

The hard cap hurts the game. If an owner(s) wants to spend their money, let the players reap the rewards.

And I would expand roster spots even more. Lack of depth also hurts the game, especially when a QB or key WR or key corner, etc goes down.
The increase in the cap means nothing, IMO

Since every team has the increase, it just means FAs get paid more or teams in better cap position can afford to pay more to keep a guy. It doesn't necessarily help the teams up against it.

I don't expect the cap to be an issue going forward after this clean-up year, but I don't necessarily pay attention to the cap increases anymore because it just correlates with higher salaries, not the ability to sign more players.
