Obviously when you tie, every play is under a microscope, so wanted to revisit the Thibs sack in OT.
Just watched the play a few times and instead of using his right arm to try and force a strip, he just puts his right forearm into Heineke's back.
I'm sure he was just seeing dead red unblocked like that, but I hope he watches a few LT games and learns the art of the strip sack.
Again it's not a criticism of his play, just an observation of something I hope he adds to his game.
He's improving real real fast though which is awesome to see, and I expect him to reach Superstar level. I think he can be as good as Parsons, just not right this second.
Til then we are what we are, and he is what he is.
I wanted the old tomahawk LT chop there.
Definitely did a good job hanging on. Don't want to make it sound like I'm shitting on Thibs but he doesn't look very big or powerful out there. I understand he's a rookie and I'm glad he didn't get penalized for like...touching the QB's head...but a lot of Edge rushers would have obliterated Heinecke there...he was 100% unblocked and unseen.
Yup. Some guys just seem to be naturally better at it.
He was rocked and I'm shocked the ball didn't come loose.
That’s how I saw it too. Thibs went for the big hit, got it and I really thought he’d fumble because of the force of the hit. I was surprised Heinike held onto it.
Thibs had a couple of really good hits on Heinike in the game and looks better and better each week.
Next week should be a big test going up against the Eagles OL and looking forward to seeing what he and Azeez do.
+1 lol. Would have ended it there!
It's not an expectation, it's just an observation of something he can work on technique wise to bring his game to next level.
