4th & 4-Completion to Samuel

If the defense gets a stop there, do you think the Giants win? Commanders still had three timeouts. But all Giants would have had to do is likely get ONE first down and the game is over.
The way the offense was playing, no I don't think the game is over

LOS was the 27. We were in FG range.

yes, giants probably run the ball three times and either punt or kick a FG. Washington would then be pinned further back or down 10. The game was likely over if they stop them there.
Absolutely over with

That happened at the Wash 27 yard line, well within Gano’s range already. Giants probably run 3 plays…if don’t get the first, they used all TOs and Gano kicks a 35 yd FG….up 10.

Ah, right. They run it three times and kick it. Gano makes that 10 out of 10.

The Giants punt from the 27?
Yes

Unless Feliciano decided to flex his muscles again.

Yes we win

And the narrative changes completely. That is how fickle everything is. Then we hear that despite being dominated in the second half by Washington D, this coaching staff figured out how to pull out another close win. We are 8 and 4 with a good shot controlling our destiny for the playoffs.

Similarly if Slayton makes that catch at midfield and we go on to win, it would be Jones stepped up big when it was needed—assuming we get a few more plays into field goal range.
Yes, though we would be so conservative
jvm52106 : 12/5/2022 8:32 am : link
that it would make for a crazy final 30 seconds.

Gano worries me a bit. His leg strength seems a tad off since he was sick.
Yeah I think we do

Exactly and they were with the wind. That is the easier side of the field to kick

Yep .
Guy runs left, throws side arm , 20 yards with no Giant defender nearSamuel.
On a 4th down play.
Our back 4/5/6/7 are slow with slow play recognition, except for AJ, Love, XMc.
Yep

Ball Game over
a noodle arm QB throwing against his body...
BillKo : 12/5/2022 11:30 am : link
...and it was in the air forever.

Someone should have been in position to knock it down at a minimum.

Game would have been over.
That play likely would have ended the game
Mike from Ohio : 12/5/2022 11:38 am : link
But look at the time of possession in the second half. The defense was gassed because the offense was a 3-and-out machine. You win playing complementary football and that did not happen yesterday. The offensive failings and inability to pick up any first downs put the defense in a horrible position.

The QB made a nice play to get his team a TD when they needed it. No shame in admitting that.

A lot of the people who say we can’t expect Jones to be perfect also expect the defense to be perfect. They played well yesterday despite missing Jackson, McKinney, Holmes and Williams for a long stretch.

Good point by the OP...

This was an incredible play by Heinicke. Rolling left, under pressure, and with an average arm, he made an incredible throw to keep that drive going.

Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the other team for just making a big play. That was it. And it was THE turning point - IMV.
No one should place any blame on the defense. None.

Think about this: WAS had the ball on the NYG 43 in OT with a FG to win it. They punted.

The defense stepped up tremendously. We are upset with the tie, but WAS had plenty of chances to win as well.
