SB can't be a "bell cow" back who gets 30+ touches a game. He gets too banged up to do what he does. IMV they need to have RBs who can spell him for parts of the game and take some of the load off him.
26 at times runs into congested areas where linemen are contesting blocks when it appears he has open areas available? Also yesterday on one play jones faked to brightwell….he appeared to move through the line faster than 26 by a noticeable amount.
I'm not a big PFF guy and I consider myself a Saquon guy, but that stat is alarming. A 230+ pound RB who touches the ball as much as Barkley should have more than that by accident.
RE: If I were GM, I'd draft a RB even if I'm keeping Barkley.

He's the softest 236 lb. RB I've seen. Bradshaw was 195 lbs. and ran way harder.

How is he soft? He bulldozes people sometimes. Hes quick, shifty and fast, why would he run into guys more? He can run around quite often.

.
If I was the GM, I think I would draft a RB and move on from Barkley. I like SB for the most part, just don't want to pay him what he is most likely looking for. The position has become de-valued to a certain extent. You can draft, and plug and play right away. We see it every year in this league, especially at that position.
Saquon is one of the top ten RBs in the NFL. I'd rank a little him behind Derrick Henry, Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, and Nick Chubb, in with Dalvin Cook, Zeke Elliott, Alvin Kamara and Leonard Fournette.
Didn't he have an insane amount of broken tackles his first 2 years? Part of that was juking and jiving. Things a lot here complained about...loudly. He's stopped that and just went taking the yards that are there. It could be that he doesn't trust his ability to move like he used to or it could be that he's heard the criticism and chose to adapt this style.
Break the bank with him. I assign him the franchise tag and draft a running back in next years draft and do the same the following year. It is proven over and over again and again that it's not the way to build your team. Signing running Backs to big second contracts after their 5 year rookie years is stupid, plain and simple. I would not sign Barkley to anything more then a 1 year deal, and paying the franchise tag money for him next season is the way to go.
Has been very good this season. I hope he has a few more good ones in him this season, I am counting on it. But not having good wideouts has allowed teams to play Barkley the way they want to, we can't dictate any terms and that is the real problem. This broken tackle bullshit is for yoyo's.
Barkley is near the top in rushing, playing behind a below par offensive line, and carrying the offense. So people bash him?
Yet Jones is a middling QB, playing behind the same line, and the same people prop him up.
Barkley is doing a hell of a lot more with the OL than Jones. The whole league knows Barkley is a stud, its only some on BBI who don't.
Weren't you sucking Jones dick for the last 2 years?
Barkley had 1 rushing yard on 5 carries in the second half. You can't blame that all on the Oline. I don't see anyone saying to cut him, but it's concerning how bad he has looked the last 3 games.

Don't be a jerk. No I wasn't, I am pretty neutral on him. I do defend him against the agenda driven people here who would bash him for any little thing, which I think is very unfair, and I still will. Just because I do that doesn't mean I think he is the answer. Frankly I think I am where a lot of people are with Jones. However on Barkley I am solidly in the Barkley camp. Everything we do is geared on Barkley so the defense is watching him 100% of the time. This is why the fakes to him, and handoffs to Breida, work so well. The defense just follows him around the field.

Didn't hit him in the numbers...but the receivers should be used to that by now.
A TD because of a turnover. So, 1 yard rushing is a huge problem but 39 yards passing is perfectly normal? Saquon is a problem...DJ is a hero? Seems about right for you...

Lol yeah...1 rushing yard is a huge problem. When we are bringing in extra linemen and TEs I don't expect huge passing numbers. I never called DJ a hero. The fact you think an NFL caliber WR needs a 40 yard pass to hit him in the chest to make a catch says a lot.

It would be nice if they didn't have to jump or fall down backwards to catch an inaccurate pass...but accuracy isn't the QBs job, right?
With DJ, you'll never have to expect "huge passing numbers"...you'll just make excuses about why they never happen.
Riddle me this...would DJ be better or worse without SB? Would Saquon be better with a top 4 QB? Squirm away...

More like cringe.
Slayton didn't have to jump or fall backwards...if he continues on his route it is right on target. Pretty accurate I'd say.
DJ would be better with Derrick Henry. Barkley would be better with Patrick Mahomes. Happy?

You think every incompletion is a drop...why would this be any different? Every WR stops, or doesn't adjust to bad throws. Nothing is ever on DJ.
You were half right. Saquon would be a beast with Mahomes, DJ would be about the same with Henry, and Henry would be worse with DJ.
Who on the Giants benefits from playing with DJ? Who does DJ make better? Not Slayton...his numbers suck (51 YPG and a TD every 5.5 games). Not Barkley...he's running against stacked boxes. Give me the player that is better because DJ is the QB of this team? He doesn't exist.
DJ is Jimmy G...you can put a ton of talent around him and the offense will still sputter. Daniel Jones can't elevate his game or his teammates...he needs a great defense, he needs a great running game, he needs great coaching...nobody "needs" DJ. They scheme a dink and dunk offense and they're conservative in the 2 minute drill, just so he doesn't lose games...like he used to.
He's the softest 236 lb. RB I've seen. Bradshaw was 195 lbs. and ran way harder.
SB has a 10 yard run and takes 5 plays off.
SB has a 10 yard run and takes 5 plays off.
Barkley was the only running back with a carry yesterday.
If true, that stat is inflated by 3 or 4 long runs early in the season. Where he broke one tackle and then had a long run.
In the past 5 or 6 games he has not routinely break tackles on runs that keep drive's alive.

How many yards did DJ throw for in the 2nd half? 20? I'm sure you have a whole list of excuses why that's acceptable? Do tell....
39 and a TD. Excuses? Other than Slayton dropping a ball that I'm sure you thought was uncatchable...
