Barkley should be showcased much more in the passing game. Angle routes, circle routes, return routes, etc. Line him up out in the slot. Right now they just leak him out of the backfield and it is very predictable and not fooling anyone. He had 91 catches no problem with Eli at QB, and Eli is nowhere near the running threat that Daniel Jones is.
Opposing defenses run alot of man coverage on the Giants because of the potential threat of Slayton and then maintaining lanes on Jones/Barkley RPO. Giants are getting favorable looks and not taking advantage of it. Kakfa has seemed to fall in love with this scheme of rolling out Jones and having players slide underneath across the formation, and it's not working anymore. They have abandoned the wildcat and haven't run it in weeks. They should look to press the ball down the field more. He hit Slayton on one and should have been two deep passes. Jones can sling it, that square-in he hit Richie James on was a seed and fit it in between defenders. Also, please stop with the playaction if the ball is not being run consistently.
Kafka/Daboll have to do a better job of scheming guys open. Daboll insinuated in the postgame yesterday that in that third quarter malaise where the Giants did nothing offensively that the Skins playcalling was superior to the Giants. That's a little dig there at Kafka, IMO. Bottom line is we have a first year OC and HC, bumps in the road are expected, the WR depth is not optimal and that is all understood, it's up to coaching to scheme better.
