My league just completed its first round of the playoffs. I had a bye week as the #1 seed and will face the #4 seed after he beat the number #5 seed with a score of 155-132. The other matchup went down to the wire on Monday night with the winning team getting the necessary points to win 96 to 89 with R.White catching the last TD pass. The sad part about that game was the the losing team had C.Godwin. The manager was livid when his last TD got taken away due to penalty, essentially sealing his fate.
So now that I am finally going into Week 14, I have to contend with not having A.Jones or AJ.Dillon as my RBs due to their bye.
Current starters:
QB: J.Allen
RB: T.Pollard, Zeke
WR: S.Diggs, J.Jefferson
TE: T.Kelce
Flex: C.Akers (?)
S-Flex: D.Jones
Bench: A.Jones, AJ.Dillon, D.Harris, J.Williams
I put in claims for J.Cook, G.Dulcich, D.Dallas, B.Purdy (to take him away from another manager that just lost Jimmy G as his second QB), and T.Huntley (same as Purdy)
Who would you use as your Flex? C.Akers did well but I can't trust him, so maybe J.Cook or G.Dulcich?
This is what I'm facing:
QB: J.Hurts
RB: D.Pierce, L.Fournette
WR: AJ.Brown, T.Hill
TE: H.Hurst (hurt so he'll most likely replace him)
Flex: S.Perine (if J.Mixon plays, he'll most likely use DJ.Moore)
S-Flex: K.Pickett
Bench: M.Jones, S.Darnold, J.Taylor, B.Robinson, DJ.Moore, T.Coleman, C.Kupp (IR), D.Goedert (IR)
This team just put up 155, so I'll be counting on the Giants to help me against J.Hurts and AJ.Brown. And I know that he'll be putting in FAAB to get G.Dulcich, so I'm going to try to take him away from him, but we both have 50 FAAB left (we both reloaded our FAAB last night after we went down to 0).
It was one of those things where the league wanted to prevent playing the playoffs in the final two weeks of the season. And the championship match is two weeks long (weeks 15-16). No one anticipated that they would still have byes in Week 14, let alone so many teams when the schedule got carried over from last season. At this point, it is what it is.
As far as the FAAB goes, you can reload 50 twice once you hit 10 or less. First time is $10 and second time is $20. Generates more action and more money for the pot.
I'm thinking I'll go with J.Cook (if I get him) as my Flex since C.Akers play on Thursday night, and I don't like Thursday night games.
You absolutely need to get Cook. Dulcich would be a nice add, I think he's going to get targets, but if your opponent is smart, he's going to bid enough on Dulcich that will make you choose who you are going to get, Cook or Dulcich. And that Broncos offense stinks, sounds like Sutton will be out. Will probably mean more targets for Dulcich, and Hackett has indicated they are going to use him like a WR going forward at least in the short term.
But that also could mean more defensive attention, the cupboard is getting bare over there, and they just can't score points.
Cook is the best possible flex you can play, he has a little upside, a decent floor bc I think he's a shoe-in for double-digit touches, and he may be in-line for more share of the backfield work as we go deeper into the fantasy playoffs in what is one of the best offenses in fantasy. Make sure you get Cook.
So, I lost Lamar with his injury and my other QB is Fields who has a bye.
Here are my waiver choices..
Huntley
Goff
Tannehill
Wilson
Purdy
Mac Jones
How would you rank these guys from 1-3?

Thanks, Jim. You always have sage advice.
The stupidest part of this entire waiver question is that I had dropped J.Cook last Tuesday to pick up a few players I thought would be better long term prospect for the playoffs on waiver. Then Thursday night game happens ...and rest is history.
So, I lost Lamar with his injury and my other QB is Fields who has a bye.

Huntley
Goff

in a league where yes the playoffs are on a bye week. The Commissioner is clueless.

If you're going to pose a question with 6 options, you should post week 14 opponent, home or away. I don't know all the week 14 opponents off the top of my head, but I do know Tannehill has the Jaguars I believe in Nashville, and I like that matchup. Also, are you favored or underdog. Because I may feel Tannehill has safest floor but Huntley or Goff may have bigger upside, for example.
I can tell you if Goff is on the road week 14 you probably don't want him. Goff at home vs bad defenses is where you want to live with him. Just not enough info to give a an answer.

I picked up Huntley... my opponent grabbed Goff to block me. I am a serious underdog due to the bye.
