With the Giants being flexed to SNF next week, it made me think of some of the games they played on SNF. They were a regular fixture during the Coughlin/Manning era. Everyone talks about their primetime record, but a large part of that is due to being awful the last decade.
The Giants actually opened SNF in 2006 for the Manning bowl. Here are some of the great wins:
-Beating Philly in 2007 and sacking McNabb a ton
-Winning at Philly in 2008
-Clinching home field throughout against Carolina in 2008
-Beating Dallas in 2009 to open the stadium and Eli signing the wall
-JPP blocked FG in Dallas in 2011 sealing the comeback
-Clinching the division against Dallas in 2011
-Beating up on Green Bay in 2012
There was some bad too:
-Bears loss in 2006
-Losing to the Redskins at home in 2007 on that windy night
-Eli awkwardly slides and fumbles in Philly in 2010
-Losing to the Vince Young Eagles in 2011
-Opener in Dallas in 2013
-Opener in Dallas in 2015 when Eli threw it out of bounds
I miss the relevance of the Giants back during the Coughlin/Manning era. I love that the Giants are back on SNF next week and hopefully they are a fixture under Daboll.
If memory serves, we missed a long field right at the end of the second quarter that Hester took back for a TD.
I have a funny feeling we’re going to have a strong showing against the Eagles (not predicting a win). Just saying that I think we will hang tough with Philly and it will spring board us into a win against Wash the following week.
Usually, SNF games this late in the season mean the team is relevant and in the playoff hunt- so inherently the games not only feel bigger, but they are bigger.
While many hate this, I like waiting around all day- watching the other games while the anticipation builds. I also love the NBC Production- think it’s by far the best.
As for the on field product—there’s been some tough ones and classic let downs over the years. Giants lost a home game to the Cards one year and another to a Vince Young led Eagles team. Those ones stand out to me. Also remember the game against Washington and Todd Collins where Eli couldn’t complete a pass.
Also really back in the day, but I remember one against the Chargers where Eli had his coming out party but the Giants could not stop Tomlinson and let up nearly 50 points

Pretty sure Eli still holds the NFL record for most incompletions (34) in a single game, from that Washington loss.
But immediately after we got this line from Collinsworth: "If JPP doesn't go to the pro bowl there needs to be a investigation"
Had to watch that one in jail. Man was it nice getting out in time to watch the entire playoff run.
Was also at that 2012 GB game, Eli set the franchise TD record and we blew them out.
That stadium rocked all night long.
Best Cowboy/Giant game I attended.

I remember it fondly!
That was a back-breaker, but it was midway through the 4th.

During that season there were whispers of some kind of...something...during halftime in the locker room. Argument, fight, I dunno, but it was talked about here for awhile.

Wasn't that the game where Shockey broke his leg?
