Cowgirls leak Odell knee status...not ready for primetime

MeanBunny : 12/6/2022 10:47 pm
No shit Sherlock. Signing Odell is a total crapshoot and not worth the treasure and risk. Just get 2-3 new decent WRs and call it a day. Odell not a smart call unless he is heavily discounted and Cowbitches leaked this to drive his value down. Sounds like a quality organization.
Maybe if he gets pissed we get him for cheep
Cowgirl lame tactics as usual - ( New Window )
This to me
nygiants16 : 12/6/2022 10:59 pm : link
is the cowboys leaking this because they know they arent signing him..
Is that really a leak?
fanoftheteam : 12/6/2022 11:08 pm : link
They make it sound as if no other teams would give him a physical
Market shenanigans
MeanBunny : 12/6/2022 11:13 pm : link
I suspect they want the "price" to go down as competitive bids will get scared off. Knowing our trainers, I would say they have not-so-great- street cred.
as a "survivor" of knee surgery (2x) I can tell you the end result is not 100%

That makes little sense. If the Cowboys are dead set against signing him, they want to drive his price up, not down. Make another team overpay for him.
There's literally the same thread 5 threads down

90% of us could make that

diagnosis without having a medical degree or access to him.

ACLs do not heal that quickly, especially when it is the 2nd one. And who knows what other damage there was.

There is also the perception with their own fans. It justifies to them why the team did not spend the money who the fans may think would put them over the top to win a championship.
Why isnt

OBJ just waiting until March to enter free agency?

This is weird.
It seems clear
mfjmfj : 12/7/2022 9:01 am : link
that OBJ is not ready to play because he did not work out. I think he would like to be on a roster at year end because showing up for the playoffs gets him paid extra. If the Giant are at week 16 and playoff bound, they definitely would juice next year's numbers to have him available this year. Can he play by January? Who knows. Let's see him workout and go from there.

As always, it depends. My son had 3 ACL tears before 18 (2 in one leg, one in the other). Four years since his third one he plays hoops everyday with no problem (Thank God). Recovery from his last one was probably 6 months. Now he is young (20) and only playing at a playground level, but you never know how the body will react. Frank Gore had two ACL tears and a Meniscus tear before he came to the NFL. If recollection serves he played until he was like 58.

No chance OBJ is what he was when he was first here. No guarantee he is what he was last year for the Rams. But if he is that, he is a substantial upgrade from what we have, and worth a lot.

If we had Rams OBJ on our team I think we have at least 2 more wins. That ain't nothing.

Because they have been so outspoken about signing him and many in the media have said its a lock, so if he signs somewhere else the Cowboys now can tell their fanbase, hey his knee is bad we didnt want him

I'd agree with this. One of the main reasons our offense can't move the ball is because teams feel free to commit 9 guys to the run knowing these receivers are awful.

I’m assuming his agent thinks a playoff team that needs a receiver is willing to live for today and splurge on Beckham. Also at the moment he has a monopoly. In March he competes against free agent wide receivers and draft picks.
Question is
mdthedream : 12/7/2022 10:51 am : link
if he is not ready how much does he want for next season?
OBJ should join Martinez

They are leaking it to explain to their fan base why they didn't sign him. It's for PR purposes.

is it possible that he'd accrue a year of service if he played this year? i'm not sure what the rules are but years of service does affect things like salary, pension, etc., in the NFL.
Trying to wrap my head around the OP

That plus the "mean bunny" handle should clue you in on the maturity level. Probably 12-15 years old.

They are leaking like an OBJ endzone dance.

Is it possible he is STILL the full blown narcissist/me first player that he was the first time he was here and nothing has changed? I'd take the over. He comes with a BRAND and that brand requires him to make sure he stays in the conversation and I suspect that is exactly what his "team" is doing.
