but it's so difficult to compare QB's from different eras due to all the rule changes.
Could you imagine the numbers some of the all0time greats would put up now?
With that being said, the numbers look pretty good considering the condition of the OL, and WR's he's had to play with.
Do you notice how he is not being compared to any modern day QBs?
Todays NFL has been set up to make passing easy. QB stats have gone through the roof. Jones isn’t on pace with any good modern QBs, but he is on pace with guys from 20-40 years ago!
Yay!
Hopefully you are just spamming BBI with this shit
If you really think you can compare QBs that play in 2020s to those that played in the 1960s - 1980s, you are clueless. The game is completely different.
Can you at least search stats and comparisons for QBs that started in this century?
great Montana was. Or at least how great the system was. His numbers actually do compare to modern day quarterbacks, which is amazing. You want to really feel good about Jones compare him to Phil Simms first 4 years. They are a ton better. And for those who didn't watch, DJ has played much better in his first four years than Phil Simms did in his first 4.
an additional 333 pass attempts just to have roughly the same number of TD's as Drew Brees....and then the next year the Chargers drafted a QB in the first round and let Drew Brees walk. Interesting.
What I get is that players even great players take time to develop.
Not all QBs are lights out their first few years and that it can take time for a player to reach their potential
What it critical is the QBs trending did the QB show improvement ?
Would be a better indicator of TDs, Interceptions, attempts and completions. Also completion percentage varies by era.
I am still a Jones supporter but why not include Brady, Eli, Big Ben, and Rivers? This comparison should include all the franchise QBs in the pas 20 years that the fans want to see Jones become. Even if Jones ended up in the bottom third of the list, it would still be favorable to him.

The rookie contract, especially with the 5th year being fully gtd, has greatly reduced the leash teams are willing to give.

I grabbed some data on QB first 50 starts and you can see it on Google Docs. Jones comes in at the 40% mark for first 50 starts. If you look at career data he is at 46%. Seems to indicate slightly better than average quarterback Google Docs - ( New Window )
Keep the detestable Jones debate going. Very intellectual thread though. How smart you are. You happy now? And I am for Jones, and this was ridiculous to put out. People are dug in, they are not changing their minds, and if you are arguing with someone, this isn't going to change a thing. Let this play out, we know the Giants are going to keep Jones, so try to keep it humble, your going to be proven out in tbr end, when it counts, solet it play out and cut the bullshit.

Stick it sideway up your ass pal.
I found a chart. It relates to the QB of the New York Giants, so I posted it. I do not profess for Jones or against. You will not find anywhere where I argue for or against. You seem to have laid at my feet that I am on some mission. I am not
So once again, I found a chart. I posted it. For discussion. And again I say to you, stick it directly up your ass, sideways.
To a championship in 1938, didn’t break 51% in passing completions until his 5th season? What if there was a BBI then? The Maras would have cut Danowski and then what?
It's almost as if this chart is sarcastically trolling Jones diehards.
Can’t stand it when comparisons are made from different eras. The ball Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham , Connerly threw was a beach ball compared to the more streamlined version of todays ball

(To be read in a Groucho Marx voice.)
Steve Young didn't break 54% until his 5th season.
The rest, with all due respect can ever so gently……blow it out of your ass
That is all
Maybe you should use your brain before you post.
I'll post whatever I want, whenever I want. Perhaps you should consider how futile your attempt is? Not a thing you can do. Zero effect. Now carry on in your insignificance.

I watched and you are full of shit.

That’s true, except Jones probably wouldn’t have played over Scott Brunner. I mean, when do people actually look objectively at this guy. The other NFCE fan bases very much hope Jones is the long term Giants qb.
RE: It is nothing short of egregious that Schoen and Daboll
As bad as dumbass Colin Kaepernick retweeting someone who compared his QB Rating to John Elway when the Broncos wouldn't sign his ass.

We should definitely pay Daniel Jones like he's an all-time great.

So freakin stupid.
They must be kicking themselves now.
I guess the only good comparison in this chart should be the Win-Loss.
Did anybody look at that??

Four posts up.

People still do it in modern times.
"X record was broken!" (Or team record)
Yeah no shit. Easy, laxed rules and more games played. When bums like Dak can outperform Aikman, you know the plate is slanted.
Similar situation, close to the same number of games with similar production.

Move over Tom Brady.

I feel the need to remind you from time to time that your definition of “ bad quarterback “ is opinion regardless of how often you present it as fact
I don’t think your view is shared in NFL circles the proof of which will present itself this off season.
Seems some get it.

Justin Herbert
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
Joe Burrow
Kyler Murray
AKA guys that have been drafted near the era Jones was drafted

Well that’s not fair. All those guys are much better than he is.

Did you get dysentery though? Sometimes it takes longer if you want to avoid the dysentery
LOL. Maybe riiiiight??
A poster earlier got it right. It was on Reddit. Definitely a skewed view sans the W-L records.
Seems some get it.

I'm pretty sure some cavemen were throwing rocks around. He had way more touchdowns than them
