Don't know if this has been posted, but I haven't seen it ...
"Speaking to the media on Wednesday, New York Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale said he doesn't consider his current job a "stepping stone" and as a result does not plan to interview for the vacant Indianapolis Colts job this week. He did open the door to interviewing next week if the Colts are still interested though."
That quote seems to contradict itself
So his answer is similar to his defense scheme. Shows one look then does something.
Just to be clear I wish Wink every luck in his aspersions BUT I hope they’re all with the Giants!
Like his interviews and the excitement he brings to our defense.
STAY HERE WINK!!!!
He's got the time. Irsay, Tepper, the Bidwells and maybe Greg Penner simply don't have the resume Wink is looking for to qualify for an interview with him.
I really like having him here and in addition to his football smarts I value how deeply he cares for his coaches and players.
Selfishly I want to keep him but I will wish him well if he eventually moves on. I'm sure they are grooming someone in case this happens.
I think he has pause on Irsay and the Colts .... Yeah he wants to be a HC but leave a very good situation for a situation that is unstable to put it mildly, isn't ideal and I think he sees it that way currently. Yeah he'll interview but Irsay and the Colts will be interviewing as well (or at least should be).
He interviewed w the Giants for the HC job lol. Pretty sure he might still interview I think he'd like to interview for the right opportunity. Why not talk to someone. As far as the Colts No Qb and an asshole owner might be not the spot he wants to land if he does decide to move to a HC spot
Indy might be one of only a few franchises where you take a hard pass.
I would think he's much more prepared to handle a HC role then Kafka based on his years of experience.
I listened to it as well. Makes a lot more sense hearing the whole thing. He spoke about how NY is the greatest city with the greatest fans and how much he admires ownership from when he first met with them.
Yep. I agree. He'll take his chances and make a lot of money.
Who wouldn't?
