Is it Me or does Philly look flat?

TheBlueprintNC : 1/20/2023 5:01 pm
The coaches the players -they all look flat. I'm getting that tingling feeling -Philly peaked and looks bored. Go watch the I'm hungry speech by Hurtz or the coaches' interviews and compare them to what you're seeing and hearing from our coaches and players.. Something else this Philly team are older and played for other teams too.. Howie is a good GM but his drafts were terrible... His trades and FA pick ups have been fantastic. but They arent a young team and growing up together like the GMEN are.

IF the Giants, which are outmanned by a much deeper more talented roster, can keep the emotion and keep the game even or even a lead into 2nd half -we have a really good shot at taking this game. It's up to the D! Loving this team and we definitely have the coaching advantage. DaBalls and Wink.
I don't know about flat,
darren in pdx : 1/20/2023 5:10 pm : link
but they may have peaked too early and too overconfident looking past the Giants. It's been brought up multiple times but we all remember the last time a hated divisional opponent looked past the Giants in the playoffs.

The Key Is How Close To 100% Is Hurts
Trainmaster : 1/20/2023 5:22 pm : link
IF they have to dial back his running and if he’s wary of contact both in the pocket and during designed runs, that would be a key part of Philly’s game that is not at its full capacity.
We are lucky our injuries are resolving now
MeanBunny : 1/20/2023 5:30 pm : link
except for Shep and a couple of others we are generally healthy. When we first faced the Eagles we didn't have the WR config we have now and we had a lot of injuries.
2nd game was interesting-that was a flat game by Philly but maybe
They have

a 2008 Giants feel to them.

Yes (sans their best WR literally shooting himself).
Might be you

when I look at them I see them in three dimensions.

Sorry.
Flat...

...as Fuck!

Go Giants!

I think they have had a rough go of it the past month. They should have beat the Saints even without Hurts.

So yeah, I agree. But I think the talent gap is too big.
Yeah let's talk ourselves into downplaying the #1 seed

This…they are very deep. If we have any gaffs we’re screwed. If we can run the ball, stop their run and get to Hurtz we have a chance. They’re better than GB and Dallas on our SB runs. Maybe not SF, but they are that good in terms of personnel.
They are like

the earth.
they peaked too early
islander1 : 1/20/2023 7:00 pm : link
but the talent gap is massive.

They will probably lose to SF, who now has around the same talent but is on fire atm.
If Hurts is healthy
nygiants16 : 1/20/2023 7:00 pm : link
and able to run that offense with him being able to run and lower his shoulder, then it might be a long night for this defense, its going to be tough..

But if he is going tonplay like he did week 18, where they didnt call many runs and if he was about to get hit he goes down, then i think the Giants got him..

I am more afraid of him Running than i am him sitting in the pocket and throwkng to his weapons
The Giants have the better coaching staff.
St. Jimmy : 1/20/2023 7:20 pm : link
Sirianni is a fraud. A QB on a 2nd round contract and a weak schedule got them to where they are. Tomorrow is talent vs. coaching. We'll see what prevails.
I Despise the Eagles
Bernie : 1/20/2023 7:36 pm : link
and that shit fanbase with every ounce of being in my body. But this is wishful thinking. They are really good and it's going to take the Giants best performance of the year to beat them. I am hopeful, but also realistic. The Eagles think this is their year and will come our firing tomorrow night.

Really surprised we haven't seen more discussion of this, I agree. We have a big coaching advantage.

I also agree with Islander1, the Eagles peaked too early. They haven't played great football for awhile now. I really like our chances.

I REALLY dislike Sirianni. Eff him and that stupid, "It's a Philly thing" sweatshirt/hoodie he was wearing the other day.
Jalen Hurts now

Has the lowest odds for an anytime TD pn Fanduel.

Is he healthy?

This is why I am bullish on the Giants. The talent gap will close and coaching will decide the games. I think Daboll will win in that situation more often than not.
Let’s hope flat

as a pancake.
The Giants are 7 1/2 dogs. Vegas does not see the Eagles as flat
Rich_Houston_1971 : 1/20/2023 10:17 pm : link
Eagles will be playing 21 of their 22 starters (no avante maddox). They are going to be highly motivated for this game and the Giants have to be ready to deal with this and the crowd.

Best case scenario is mckinney lighting up Brown or Thibs getting an early sack to send a message early this game is going to start and progress differently than from last two meetings.

A bigger concern for me is the shegals pass rush, if the oline can keep Jones upright there is a chance!
Over confident
JerrysKids : 1/20/2023 11:58 pm : link
Is the vibe I’m getting from philly all the talk is about playing San Fran or Dallas looking past this game as a forgone conclusion. The fans and the local Philly media all feel this will be a easy game for them to win. I heard a beat reporter say I’f they played the Giants 50 times the Eagles would win 45 times.
How about
thrunthrublue : 1/21/2023 2:19 am : link
A re do of when the giants went to Green Bay as a wildcard and Eli heaved up a Hail Mary at the end of the first half…..that was a crowd quieter!
I suspect the defense
Dave on the UWS : 1/21/2023 11:02 am : link
will hold its own, no matter what. The key (as its been for 10 years now) is the OL. There is a MASSIVE talent difference between our OL and their DL. That's likely, where the game is won and lost.
Philly will not be flat
Reale01 : 1/21/2023 11:06 am : link
They have not had a lot of urgency towards the last month of the season. You can point to the last game, but even then it was our backups and the game was really never in doubt.

They will be HIGHLY MOTIVATED tonight. The Eagles have a lot of expectations on them and may be tight. That said, I expect that both teams will give their best and the game will be close. Turnovers/Breaks/Penalties could make the difference.

One thing is certain, there will be an historic meltdown in Philly if the Giants manage a win.
Dallas Looked Flat Too
MojoEd : 1/21/2023 11:49 am : link
but had their game on for playoffs. Unfortunately, Eagles will be the same.
They will not be flat coming out tonight..
Tom from LI : 1/21/2023 1:29 pm : link
Giants need to survive the early onslaught and then slow the game down.

They beat up broke home Bardy who the refs had to cheat to barely get into Goddell's 7th garbage .500 record team playoff spot.
