Is the sheer violence both teams played (especially the 49ers) at the line of scrimmage. The 49ers defense reminded me of the Giants from the mid-1980s. Watching a game like that can be a blueprint for one's draft plans -- find players who arrive at the ball with bad intentions. Very bad intentions.
This - the speed of both teams is stunning.
I like Dak, but he is just not that guy. Like Cousins, Carr or Tannehill, he is good enough to get to the dance but not quite good enough to get home.

Especially on defense…light years ahead of the Giants

So you would put Dak at the same level as Rodgers. Not elite.
The linebackers on both teams are incredible
Kind of demoralizing because it really brings to attention how big the talent gap is.
I agree. I know they tried signing him to an extension during the bye week. He made a comment saying he would only sign a contract for what he is worth.
I think he over estimates his worth. I would let him walk also.
What the Giants achieved this season was truly amazing. Despite the pounding we took on Saturday and the obvious weaknesses we still have on the team, Giants fans have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, or disappointed about.
We shall see. I don't think the game will be even close.
Eric and moderators: Using quotation marks in the title of a post really fucks it up.
I see a very close competitive game.

Think the 49ers are the better team.

Shanahan will make this a game like every other postseason game his team participates in.
Dallas utterly surprised me how good they were yesterday. Quinn limited Shanahan's run game better than anyone else in quite some time, for at least the first 2 1/2 quarters. Crazy DL/LB speed taking down Purdy, Deebo, and others behind the LOS. YAC was limited quite a lot.
That's what my eyes told me yesterday, to explain how the Niners went from a 35 PPG machine recently to resembling the Harbaugh era teams with Alex Smith.
While I feel the current 49ers are better than last year's team, Dallas surprisingly improved a ton, because last year's team would've gotten killed yesterday otherwise. That playoff game was only close because the Niners suffered injuries to Bosa and Warner, and even Garoppolo.
As far as the Eagles, they look very tough and are certainly strong. But it's a game of matchups as you know, and I can't tell quite yet how that will go down.
FWIW, the two teams played at the LINC last year and the Eagles kicked the Niners OL ass in the beginning but then they figured it out and won, but probably because Hurts wasn't quite what he is now.
I think it will be a good battle, but I respect seeing SF as the underdog in this game.
No one close INDEED! They get themselves into the right slot and then just lower the boom.
Same could be said for the Eagles. Entire division benefited from our schedule.
Whenever the Eagles played an offense that could actually put pressure on them, they scored points.
Strongly disagree. I'm betting the Niners.
100% agree. There is no way they are beating the Eagles in Philly with Brock Purdy at QB. Minus injury(s).
This. The special teams speed is very obvious as well.
Offensively, Sf has the weapons to challenge Eagles defense.
I expect a comfortable SF win.
yup. you could see Dallas doing it to him. And the Eagles are better.
San Fran will put pressure on Hurts, it's just a question of how much they can contain him. Hurts looks to bail immediately.
As I have said, teams with weapons move the ball and score on the Eagles. Purdy is the big question mark and Shannhan needs to call an outstanding game.
McCaffrey isn't even their best player or the guy who makes the team go.
Dallas is only a little better than the Giants and the 49ers are going to need Purdy to play 1000x better if they have a chance. The Eagles are healthy again. If Garaplo was healthy I think it will be a better game. I’m just sold on SF coming in after that physical game and doing it again.

I think the Eagles are going to wreck the niners. They're going to force Purdy into mistakes.

Purdy didn't make massive mistakes, no picks or fumbles.
Underrated performance from a 7th round rookie.
Maybe yes ...maybe no ... but it’s not a gimme.

I agree
A few excerpts which were dead-on:
"Quick twitched and fast to accelerate straight lines, makes an impact athletically... a hard-nosed bruiser, wants to punch guys in the mouth... scrapes over the top of the blockers and finds his lanes... Warner is a jack of all trades run stuffer. He hits hard, plays with an aggressive style, and will make tackles all over the field. He enjoys the role of an on-field bully."
I want guys on defense who "...want to punch guys in the mouth." I'll take that for the offensive line as well.
I think home field is going to factor in as well. SF played well at home; Philly is not an easy place to play. Especially for a rookie QB against a good D.
