was dropping deuces on Daniel Jones like they were prepping for their colonoscopy final. Then Santa came along and gifted Daniel with a few good games and stuffed the mobs' stockings with coal to get them to STFU for awhile.
Now Santa is gone, planning for a merry 2023 and the pitch forks are starting to show again. Yeah, you can be bad now, but come next fall Santa's gonna remember you were baaaad boys.
We went into Eagletown full of piss and vinegar intent on stealing their cheesesteak. Instead we were force fed a reality sandwich. And it tasted like dogcrap, right?
We were beat in every phase of the game, on all levels.
Why? Because the Eagles were built for 2022. They're a Super Bowl quality team and we're not.
We're year one of a rebuild, even though some here would say rebuilds don't really exist. Reality: they do.
We had no cap space to make any appreciable moves this year. In fact we had to shed bodies and salaries just to get through the year. But some here would say the salary cap is not real, it's just an illusion. Maybe you could illusion James Bradberry back on the roster.
Most predicted six wins or less this season. Guess what? We won friggin nine and zipped into the playoffs. AND won the wild card game. AND we went as far as the Cowboys did.
Not too shabby for a bunch of misfits and rejects.
Get with the program. The needle's pointing north.
Damn straight, old man. 72 and the meter is running. I wanna see anothe ring before time expires.
The Simms haters came out of the woodwork when Hostetler became QB.
The same issues surround Jones' lack of surrounding talent plagued Eli during the second half of his career and led to a .500 career record.
The Eli haters moved onto their new target, Jones.

Yup.
And I never really got the Simms hate especially since he was hurt so much in the early part of his career. He was the toughest player. Go back and watch him get hammered by the Eagles front 7. Miracle he survived.
Eli had tougher skin than Simms. He set the blueprint for Jones and how to deal with the media.

It's funny ... a friend of mine (Giants fan) ripped Eli non-stop even AFTER he had two rings. Now he spends an inordinate amount of time saying things, all frustrated, like "Jones is just like Eli!" My response is always: "I hope so!"

You’re right. This is exactly what happened. Sigh.
There are no easy fixes in the NFL....especially at QB.
Can Daboll/Kafka elevate Danny? Then they sign/franchise him.
If not, the search continues.
The problem is there are only a few stud QB's out there.
Are we feeling lucky?
