I've had Directv for 20+ years. Besides the NFL Ticket, it was the only way I could also get SNY (for Sportsnite and Mets shows) and MSG (for Giants and Knicks stuff).
I'm getting ready to make the switch to Youtube TV, but it appears that I can't get SNY or MSG with it. Are there any solutions?
Sometimes the Rangers are on ESPN+. Maybe 1-2 times a month. they are usually on MSG.
Can you stream MSG and YES on separate deals or streams? Monthly fees? Or do you need to buy the whole cow. Of course you need to buy the whole cow, if I had to bet.
To my knowledge, there is no legal way to get these two services out of market, but I could be wrong. Others here may know of one.
You can use pirate sites (at your own risk) or a VPN, which is also considered piracy, because the services aren't legally available out of market.
I've just been working on a fairly extensive white paper on piracy. The inability of out-of-market fans to access such services is a known piracy driver, and yet these companies won't make them available even to out-of-market fans who are willing to pay for them.
On YTTV SNY is available in this manner MSG is not.
That said, the MLB.TV, NBA League Pass, and SundayTicket packages are available for out-of-market games through YTTV.
For locals who are looking to cut the chord, DTV Streaming offers MSG, SNY, YES, and the local major network affiliates.
But it doesn't look like they're available outside the NY market.

I get SNY and MSG out of market legally right now with DTV, through their regional sports package. So it can be done. It appears that YTTV just doesn't offer them.
I’ve had Direct TV for years and I’ve always liked it. I don’t understand all the complaints either

1) YTTV is $65 a month total and has all the channels I watch
2) Zero equipment
This wouldn’t be a big deal, but come NFL season I will miss some Giant games.
The biggest downside is no MSG or YES Network (but that’s not a deal breaker)

I can't confirm because I still use Cable, but I'm fairly certain that even if you can get the network while out of market, the games themselves are blacked out. This happens to me with NESN. I live in Northeastern Fairfield County, CT (technically NY market, but we receive Hartford/New Haven channels). Spectrum has NESN, but they go to some generic sports programing during Red Sox games. The reason being is that they want you to purchase the out of market sports package.

What channels do you primarily watch? Ive been thinking of cutting the cord but for some reason, we hold out. I have Comcast and they no longer carry MSG. Guess I would need the mlb package to watch the Yankees

Is that regional sports package available in all regions?
yes, as far as I know. I live in FL and get it.

yes, games are blacked out, so you have to buy mlb, etc. I can do that without SNY and the others, but I won't get Mets pre and post game, etc.
I'm considering it for the same reasons you did, mainly the $ savings. The main reason I went with DTV 20+ yrs ago was the NFL ticket, which it no longer has.
I have to decide whether keeping SNY and MSG is worth the extra cost (not the extra cost of the regional package, but DTV vs. YTTV).

Yeah, you’re right. Any reason you’re giving up your DTV?

I was going to recommend you look at DTV streaming, but that looks expensive. I think the equivalent sports package is $100 + tax for one TV, and then $10 a month per additional TV.
