Schoen said they aren’t even having any free agent meetings until next week, NYG has a ton of UFA’s including Jones and Barkley. I doubt they are anywhere close to discussing Hopkins internally.
they figure out their plan at QB. I suspect a FA QB (Carr/JG/etc) means they want to compete now and will keep Moore. If they look to the draft then I think he’s a good bet to be dealt but you’ll pay a premium. I’d rather shoot higher than Moore if I’m giving up premium picks.
I cant go all in on an aging vet wr
draft a wr in first 3 rds, grab a mid tier FA annd hope guys like wandale, c johnson and shep can give u some thing in 2023
gp big for wr in 2024 (cb too)
Do you guys think he can be a top 10 WR in the NFL? I know he was a freak at Bama and I know he has had some injuries, but from what I have seen so far in his career, I haven't seen an elite receiver. Is it the QB he is playing with?

I think it's unlikely. He is a tier below the other guys we're talking about and I don't think he'll be a good fit with Jones.

"We look into everything," or words to that effect.
Of course they are going to "inquire." You do your due diligence. That doesn't mean they're going to make an offer, or that a deal will get done. If they could get him for a sixth-round pick, that probably gets done in a heartbeat. If the Cardinals want two firsts, it'll never get done.
I would expect the Giants to "inquire" about every possible trade target or free agent signing out there. Which is a lot of inquiries. Joe Schoen is gonna be busy for months.
great for this offense in my opinion. Great route runner, great at creating separation, which seems to mesh well with the quicker strike O that we had this year (completely understanding that part of that had to the with the OL)...Might not have the long speed, nor the height that some of the other receivers have, but he's absolutely a guy who can grow to be that #1 WR, and he only turns 24 at the end of April. Sign me up if the asking price isn't exorbitant.
without having to extend him, at 2 years for 34m, it can make sense.
Makes no sense at all, there are younger, faster wrs in the draft plus the Giants save a lot of money!
That's a good contract for the Giants. Even factoring in his age. Low end WR1s are 20+, elite WR1 25-30/yr. So a 2yr 17/yr deal with no guarantees for a legit WR1 makes a ton of sense.
That's not the hangup in the acquisition though. He lost his guarantees with the PED suspension, this is his last shot at a pay day and he has an NTC. He'll want and get new money/years added on to the deal by the acquiring team. Age 31 and 32 seasons are fine for the Giants, I'd worry about what comes after that though.

He sure played pretty well at the end of the year. The last 6 games after injury he averaged 87 yds, 6 catches, and had 3 TDS. Also in his last three when they adjusted the offense he averaged 103 yds on 6 catches with an average reception of 18 yds. He's fast with good size, I like him a lot.
is looking at a 30+ y/o WR making $19.5 mill this year and $14.5 mill next year.
It is not the player, it is the money. Schoen needs to pay his own guys 1st.
Whatever it takes. Then draft a stud. Hope you can get WanDale back and retain some other stuff. Cuz the FA wide outs stink. How many Isiah Hodgins are out there?

If it costs a 1st rounder for Higgins, what stud are you drafting at #57?
But he has a $30 million cap hit this season coming up. I don’t see the Giants blowing that kind of money on a 31 year old when you could potentially look at younger options that you won’t have to pay until the season after. Pittman is in the final year of his contract at a $3 million cap hit, Higgins is in the exact same boat. Aiyuk is around $4 million. I’d rather invest in one of those guys at this point even if that means parting with a 1st round pick. If the Giants pursue Hopkins, I wouldn’t expect them to give up more than a 3rd with the size of his cap hit but that will really hamstring this team from plugging the C and ILB positions on free agency which I think is imperative.
Not sure. Ross Tucker follows that account, FWIW. That's how I saw it.
I think the Panthers don’t moveDJM, but can see JJ moving and Denver going back into the draft for JJ and Risner replacements.
I follow them, not exactly a Wes Steinberg type of account, more of a "I repost everything I hear whether its right or wrong" type of account.
I wouldn't take any stock in it at all.
Moore yes, but Jeudy is a tier below. Less interest in him.

Hopkins in well into his back nine.

Noted, thanks.
I like both Higgins and Aiyuk (both subjects of some speculation here) better than Jeudy, if available. Any thoughts on how the Giants like them?
I still remember how upset you were when the Giants drafted Aaron Ross because of his age, ha!

From what I heard the Broncos got cute at the 11th hour. Wanted a first. Right to walk away from that.

I DONT I think he is a solid 2nd WR not a #1

PASS.
