trade him for something and take a QB, assuming the coaches believe there is a QB they want. I am also OK with this strategy if they think they can trade up this year and get the right guy - Anthony Richardson in the mid-teens if he lasts that long?
If we don't get a deal done with Daniel soon, I would FT tag him and try again after the draft.
then trade Jones for multiple day 2 picks (who knows maybe even a first at this point).
i think Young is going to be a super star day 1 and you get 5 years of control.
if Jones gets you a few top 50 picks you get those plus about 200m saved over the next 5 years.
How would you trade Jones? NEFT him first?
yes. Derek Carr costs about $33m for a trading team. I think there's a good case that Jones should have more value on the open market than carr because he's 6 years younger.
i think carr will definitely bring back at least 1 second round pick and it wouldn't shock me if he brings back multiple or a 1st.
i honestly think there's a fringe chance some teams sniff around him at the 2 FRP price.
if i were the jets i think id do that over giving up a 1st for carr. washington and carolina could each make sense too.
I’d take Young as well. He’s going to light the league on fire.
His size just worries me, that’s my only reservation.
the UGA defense last year was bigger/faster than most NFL teams and he lit them up with his real WRs and still gave them problems without his real WRs. So I have no concerns with his size holding him back from succeeding.
Whether or not it makes him more susceptible to injury who knows? Russell Wilson was 204 at the combine and he's been an iron man. Kyler was 207 and most of his injuries have come because running is a big part of his effectiveness. Young runs less than both (and a lot less than lamar, fields, allen, jones, etc). is it less risky to be bigger if you're also taking 5+ extra hits running every game?
Once to 4 and again but stay in the top 10
Grab two xtra 2s and 3s this yr
And xtra 1s next yr
Sign jones and saquon
Load up team 8 picks over first 100 picks.
If DJ so, use 3 number 1s in 24 to secure Caleb Williams or drake maye.
This assumes Jones was tagged this offseason.
2024 QB should be deeper than 2023 class.
Of the 2023 QB ‘s I would bet some money Schoen and Daboll like Levis.
This. Even without a QB I'd take him first Best over all player. And as much as I love Dex IMO edge > DT at that elite level so pass on Carter despite the hype this year. Also a stud but Anderson easy . Kid has he's an insane player since he was a True Fr
It does not matter where you pick, it matters who does the picking.
Think this is the real truism despite position. All GMs miss. And even bad ones get lucky. The great ones though find talent all over the draft consistently.

Does Bryce Young's size concern you at all? I like the player so far, based on what I have seen, but size is a bit of a worry for me.
It sure concerns me. I never thought too much about size, always thought more about heart (aka Flutey). But tbh, after seeing Az draft Murray (who seemed all everything in college) and thinking he'd set the world on fire, it is clear how much size impacts the game.
I don't see many non Giant games, so I'm curious about QB size as well. Offensive linemen are HUGE and being shorter than them, really has an impact on your view.
assuming Jones was re-signed, I would have Jones rated as a solid starter with room to grow. If I saw a QB that had a better skill set and overall future I would probably just take the QB and let him push Jones for the starter role.
If I saw another player (Anderson) that was too good to pass up I would probably just take Anderson. No combine yet...kind of hard to say. Gun to head probably just take Anderson but I wouldn't ignore the QB prospects.
Or we acquired the Bears first-rounder in 2023 instead of in 2022 ;)

This this and more of this! Anderson is ridiculous.

Will Anderson is a nice piece but not like a QB who could be the goods at the NFL level after a few NYC pasta dinners.

I share this POV. No size issues. No arm strength issues. He's more athletic than people realize. And that release is high level.
Bears have the most interesting choice at #1. If they take Young, they may get a pretty good trade package for Fields.
In which case, they could possibly accelerate the rebuild.
(I love Fields, btw)

health concerns me with every player in the nfl. bryce young included. but that's the price of doing business in the nfl.
i expect him to weigh in very similarly to russell wilson at the combine and he's had very good fortune health wise.
His size just worries me, that’s my only reservation.

Yeah, for instance Atlanta, who could be on the outside looking in for their future QB.

As you can see, we've had our eye on you for some time now, Mr. Anderson

He has issues with the pass rush and doesn't see the field well IMHO. Has bust written all over him

Anderson and Thibs with Dex and (Leo or his replacement) would be a GIANT step to a legendary Giants Front Line
