With all due respect to the Josh Allens & Jalen Hurts of the NFL, I think these two dudes have established themselves as the two best QBs in the league.
& while Mahomes' resume is more impressive @ the moment/he's got the championship bling, I'd take Burrow. I fucking love this kid. He's got ice water in his veins.
I'm really looking forward to Bengals Chiefs 630 ET Sunday. Hopefully Mahomes is ready to ball out & we're treated to a classic. While I'll be pulling for Cincy-because of Burrow & the fact they've never won it all-I'm rooting for the AFC Champion come Super Bowl Sunday. And I hope that rooting interest in the Super Bowl applies to 100% of BBIers, unlike those Giant "fans" who rooted for the Eagles vs. the Pats in that last Super Bowl. You know who you are. And hand in your fan card pronto.
His arm skills and off-platform ability are all-time great.

McAdoo wanted him 😊
I think they’re about to reach the promised land in about 3 weeks.

I'm well aware. I'm well aware.
In hindsight, that trade the Chiefs made to get to Buffalo's spot to acquire Mahomes was easily - and I mean easily - something we could have done...

Burrow doesn't quite have the Mahomes arm talent, though he's no slouch. But he's excellent at moving around the pocket, evading pressure, extending plays and throwing on the run. It's a big feature of his game.

I have absolutely no issue with those taking Burrow. He's terrific.
But Mahomes is a savant and I'm a sucker for those rare physical gifts.

Agreed, and the idea that Burrow is somehow playing with no talent is absurd. The OL is a little leaky, but it’s a very talented roster. I really like Burrow, his ability to navigate within the pocket is 2nd to none, but Mahomes is on another level.
Just beat me to it
As for Mahomes, it easy to point out that McAdoo wanted him and we could have traded. But, the X factor in that deal is that the Chiefs were already a playoff team and adding Mahomes is what they felt would put them over the top. If we added Mahomes, he would have been playing with a terrible OL, and a mediocre offense.

Agreed. I know many believe Mahomes would elevate any offense he was in to all-world level, but if you believe that, then you believe there's little difference between a Reid and a McAdoo. I can't make that leap.
To answer the OP's question, assuming that Mahomes and Burrow stay with their teams, I think Mahomes would enjoy more success. He has a more solid foundation with Reid and a system that fits him like a glove. As a talent, Burrow is different but just about as good. But I always worry that the Bengals' penny-pinching ways will hurt him down the line. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the roster once Burrow gets his next big contract.
I like Joe Burrow just like everybody else, but Mahomes has proven to be the best quarterback in the league. This really shouldn't be a debate.
Out of nowhere? Burrow was a 4-star recruit and Gatorade Player of the Year in Ohio.
Josh Allen came out of nowhere.
Burrow is the better leader.
I'll take the better leader
Burrow is the better leader.
I'll take the better leader
How do you know he’s a better leader? Mahomes has led his team to 5 straight AFC title games, most recently after losing his big play WR.
Not the biggest arm, not the best athlete....but I'll bet on him stepping up when needed.
Mahomes is more talented but when its all said and done I think Burrow will be the bigger winner. Of course Mahomes going up 2-0 probably changes that.

burrow has some great touch on his throws. Looks like an easy ball to catch.
But if you asked me at full health with everything on the line for just one game who I’m taking? Mahomes and it’s not close. Dude is amazing. I just think his style is gonnna make his career shorter than burrow. I would prefer to have comfort in a QB that is less likely to get injured by his play.
On second thought, I’m going mahomes. I think he’s just a tic better.

Yea but what if he was worse than Eli??
I like Joe Burrow just like everybody else, but Mahomes has proven to be the best quarterback in the league. This really shouldn't be a debate.
Yeah, it’s hard to remember a time when opinion changed so much on a player after one game that wasn’t a Super Bowl. A week and a half ago Burrow did nothing and was within an eyelash of going home before the fumble on the goal line.
Buffalo was not a good team. They almost lost to the Dolphins third string QB.

It's not the age in years, it's the age in NFL football hits. Mahomes has accumulated more.
I really love his improvisational skills.
Burrow is great, but Mahomes is other worldly.
His arm skills and off-platform ability are all-time great.
This! Not to mention, he signed a very team friendly contract, even if the numbers are gaudy.

Mahomes is 27, Burrow is 26 - theoretically they'd be close to the same physical condition 10 years from now.

Yea nobody ever thought Burrow was good before last week.

Better than Mahomes? Do you have a link?
I think it's probably this for me, as well.

When did anyone who actually understands football not think Joe Burrow was really good?

About half the people on this thread think Burrow is better than Mahomes. I've never heard anyone say that before this week. Have you?
Nope. Mahomes is better today, clearly. But 10 years is a really long time and I think Burrow will age well. The difference yesterday were the two OLines/pass rushes.
