NFL Draft TE

emanning05 : 1/25/2023 11:08 pm
Mel Kiper Jr. has 3 TE in his top 25 (Mayer, Musgrave, Kincaid). If the Giants go pass catcher R1, does it make more sense to go TE rather than another undersized WR (e.g., Addison, Flowers, Downs, Hyatt)?
Darnell Washington is intriguing

Raw but a ton of potential and a sound blocker
With the way

Daboll/Kafka offense is set up, those “undersized” WRs are the perfect fit.
….

Addison or rashee rice would be good picks at 25

I think Addison and flowers prob perfect scheme fits

Flowers may be best wr in class even though he is small. Guy legit has some tyreek hill to his game
Addison

Runs a great route and would be a perfect choice at 25 if there.

I will throw out a name at inside linebacker I like a lot
Drew Sanders from Arkansas is a beast and plays the position as it should be.
Addison at 25

Is a run to the podium pick. Reminds me of OBJ a lot.

Hopefully minus the attitude. I'm all for it. The last time we drafted a USC WR it worked out well for us. I'm guessing despite the success rate of LSU WRs as pros no one wants Boutte. You don't here him mentioned as a potential 1st rounder at all

GREAT player.
Addison is not really undersized

If he's there, and they want to take a WR in round one, I'd take him over any of the TEs. Otherwise I'd take Mayer. But I'd prefer they go defense or OL.

First Round -Flowers BC
Third Round Durham TE Purdue
They have to seriously address ILB in this draft . No more retread hunting or late-round wunderkinds. They need a guy who can move laterally , across the field and get depth in his pass drop . I think Syracuse has 2 of those guys in Jones and Wax. I think Maryland is a great mine to ore for WR & Corner .
I do not see Gmen

going TE in RD 1 but more likely rds 3-5. The history of that position points that being the sweet spot to find quality and quantity (meaning more TE's of quality).

I think we stick with the bigger impact positions of CB, WR, LB and IOL- base don top IOL tend to slide into bottom of RD 1.

I have been hoping for Addison the whole time
SteelGiant : 1/26/2023 10:15 am : link
I doubt he is there but if he his, that is the guy.

I would not complain if there was LB comparable available but I personally would not pass on Addison.
Unless one ofthe TEs is clearly the BPA bya wide margin
Rudy5757 : 1/26/2023 10:28 am : link
I cant see the Giants going TE in round 1 or 2. We have so many higher priority positions like WR and CB which this draft is supposed to be solid at those positions. I can see the Giants Cluster Drafting eith WR or CB but more than likely at least one if not both WR and/or CB in round 1 and 2.

In 2023 we really only have 1 WR right now in Hodgins and I think he is a low end 2 but probably a 3rd or 4th WR ideally(Robinson probably wont be back for most or all of the season) If we dont get the #1 in FA or Trade you can bet it will be a priority.

We are a little better off at CB with Jackson and the yound guys but you can never have too many CBs.

they go TE in later rounds, I like Sam LaPorta from Iowa.

That's if Wink wants to address ILB. He doesn't seem interested in guys who can get depth on pass drops.

Love Durham is he really going in the 3rd though? Have not heard much on his draft stock.
They need a matchup problem

Someone with a good speed/size combo. If that's a tight end at 25 so be it.
I have a feeling that it will be BPA...
Brown_Hornet : 1/26/2023 11:51 am : link
...between a CB and WR.
