#Cowboys make it official that they're not renewing contracts for Rob Davis, George Edwards, Leon Lett, Skip Peete, Joe Philbin and Kyle Valero
to get teams to stop firing HC and GM's. The story linked below was leaked to the NFLs favorite mouthpiece to get the PR out. As soon as that happened I thought a lot of assistant coaches would in trouble. Especially OCs and DCs.

NFL officials went so far as to compose spreadsheets specific to each team about the employees they fired and the costs incurred by the team, according to sources. The league wanted each team to see the exact cost for instability and the employees they paid for services no longer rendered.
.
Why does the NFL care who gets fired from what team and when? Anyone have a guess?
My opinion/guess is because it cuts into profits and from my vantage point that's really all NFL owners and the league care about. There's no salary cap for coaches and GMs. Teams can spend whatever they want to. My guess is that there are a lot of owners that don't want the pressure from their fan base to make expensive changes after a bad season or two and if all of the owners ignored the noise after terrible seasons it would change the expectation for all fan bases. RE: RE: I know Bobby Johnson is supposed to be good
It's looking like Quinn will get a head coach job this hiring cycle. With all the assistant coach departures, plus the salary cap issues, does Jerrah stick with McCarthy or does he wipe the whole slate clean? The Cowboys have done well to avoid rock-bottom seasons over the past decade, but they might have to endure a few to get back on track.
The cap is going to hurth them. Some of their good players are FAs so resigning will be tough. Idefinitely see them taking a step back especially of they lose Quin and keep McCarthy.
It seems to me the reason the Boys didn't advanced was simple...
Dak Prescott. Yet these guys have to lay in front of the bus. As best I can tell they are stuck with Dak "Kirk Cousins of the East" Prescott for another two years. Dak - ( New Window )
Majority of assistants are year to year contracts I believe (different for coordinators). For these 6 all of their contracts were up.
That raised my eyebrow as well
He has history with Joe Schoen as well.

But Joe Philbin as our OL coach would be pretty enticing.
He has history with Joe Schoen as well.
He’ll latch on somewhere, but if not coming in as a possible Asst OL coach may be possible. Are there any Cowboy OL FAs?

that scapegoats and puts the blame squarely on their low level coaches.
You were all cheering when the sperm recipient forced the firing of coordinators and assistants here not all that long ago.
Lol, you’re on a good roll this afternoon
