His work this season with this group of high draft picks and league minimum players has been nothing less than spectactular.

If I can nitpick for one second. Please forgive me.

But three situations in my opinion that I faulted him with:

1. Adoree back to return punts and his subsequent knee injury.
2. Deferring the opening kick-off in the Minnesota playoff game with a defense that is not dominant but situational. Led to their scoring a quick TD on their first drive.
3. Again- Deferring the opening kick-off in the Philly playoff game for the same reason....which led to their scoring quickly and we could not recover. It doesn't matter if we get the second half kickoff when we are 4 TD's behind.

That's it. Otherwise....Brilliant!
Handled the press well

Handled each individual player situation like a great leader. Stern when needed and consoling when needed. A+ in his first year across the board…. Record, personality, coaching, etc.
Well deserved!

Congrats to Dabes. I feel confident going into a game for the first time in many, many years that the NYG will win the battle of the sidelines, and thanks to him.
You know what would be better?

If this time next year Joe Schoen is winning "Executive of the Year"!

And he overcame significant team injuries

over the course of the season with an already less than talented team. His work this year was nothing sort of miraculous. Well deserved recognition. Congrats to Coach Daboll.

That'd be something!

I was thinking when I saw the Daboll headline that we should give Schoen some credit too for getting Daboll here.

Awesome!

This is my opinion. I totally agree with number one. Really wrong. However, I think number two and three were valid options. Getting the ball to start the second half is very desirable. I also do not know the Giants record of first time possessions. I suspect not very good.

But lets remember, even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then.
No offense, I don't think he is either blind or a hog.
I think we got our coach for a while.
well deserved

every year about 8-10 coaches get fired and only 1-2 of their replacements succeed (so roughly 10-25% of new hires).

thank the lord after going 0-3 from mcadoosh, shurmur, judge our number hit with daboll.
Congratulations Coach Daboll!
US1 Giants : 1/26/2023 6:55 pm : link
Is this one of a dozen organizations that name a Coach of the Year or is this the most respected organization to give the award?
Not only is Daboll the best ting about this year, he's the best thing
Walker Gillette : 1/26/2023 8:05 pm : link
that has happened to the Giants in a while. We have our coach which when you look at the turnover around the league and how the good staffs can take advantage of lesser ones is a very big deal and something not easy to pull off! Caongrats coach Daboll an award well deserved!
Congrats Coach!

I’m not sure what game you watch, but I would say 95% of coaches would defer to start with the ball in the 2nd half. It’s an advantage. Who goes onto a game thinking the other team is going to score on an opening drive???

You can get on him for the Jackson decision but the other 2 are just wrong.
We got ourselves a good one.
