I follow Top Billin' on Youtube and he did this film study on Freshman Penn State QB Drew Allar.
The kid is only 18 and he is 6'5 242lb QB. I am interested in watching some Penn State games this year and checking him out.
I am not sure how he will develop but he looks like he has some talent.
Penn State QB Drew Allar - (
New Window )
My Penn State friends were saying pretty much the same. After the Michigan loss, they wanted him starting the rest of the season to prep for 2023. I saw the kid briefly a couple times, and he flashed serious arm talent.
What top college QBs enter the draft after being redshirted and staying until their senior season? It might even be a bit of a red flag when you see a 5 year player entering the draft.

Wasted his freshman year. Now he'll only get 2 or 3 years of college experience.

I would only red flag a 5 year player at that position if they didn’t look like an NFL caliber QB for 4 of those years and turned it on in the 5th year.
Getting DA was quite a coup for Penn State. I don't think they've ever hooked a 5 star QB recruit.
I thought Powers went to Community College to get his grades up.

has to beat out Chad Powers... Even though he looks older he has major arm talent.

I think chad powers is still running the 40
The portal combined w the NIL virtually assures teams losing players(especially Qbs) if they feel they are not going to get on the field. It’s going to get words before it gets better but w some of the very top kids getting over 100k to even close to 500k suppose it’s a mess
