The reason I say take them out is because is you have to admit, that almost anybody given the Giants situation would have made the same picks, especially after the Carolina pick.
Those picks are as follows:
2nd, 43 overall - Wan'Dale Robinson
3rd, 67 Joshua Ezeudu
3rd, 81 Cordale Flott
4th, 112 Daniel Bellinger
4th, 119 Dane Belton
5th, 146 Micah McFadden
5th, 147 DJ Davidson
5th, 173 Marcus McKethan
6th, 182 Darrian Beavers
Given Schoen's free-agent signings, it seems evident that Free agents signed (who I believe could have been signed by any team) had more impact than the draft picks. Glowinski, R. James, Landon Collins, Hodgins, etc.
3rd, 67 Joshua Ezeudu - like his potential
3rd, 81 Cordale Flott - loved by this staff. Starter next year
4th, 112 Daniel Bellinger - tough kid, a number of big plays this year
4th, 119 Dane Belton - solid moments this year with a few interceptions
I like the top of this draft a lot. I'd like to see massive jumps from Thibodeaux and Neal next year.
davidson flott and bellinger to me look like they will never be elite but are just solid players who will play a lot of snaps and fill specific roles well.
mcfadden belton and ezeudu flashed but we'll see. they each have some glaring issues that need to be fixed but they have some interesting tools too.
3rd, 67 Joshua Ezeudu - C-
3rd, 81 Cordale Flott - B
4th, 112 Daniel Bellinger - B
4th, 119 Dane Belton - C
5th, 146 Micah McFadden - C
5th, 147 DJ Davidson - INC (C+)
5th, 173 Marcus McKethan - INC
6th, 182 Darrian Beavers - INC
Nobody really played bad enough that I would say that they will be complete non factors.
Some guys I think are trending to more backup caliber players, but there are a few starters in there. I think that's all you can ask for.
But in early returns, I think Bellinger lately is being a little underrated by BBI. I know everyone wants to see the big chunk receptions and gaudy yardage and reception totals. We all see the Kelce's and Kittle's and so on and want that, but consider that many seasons prior to Bellinger manning that TE spot, the blocking, both in the run and the pass, were abysmal. And Bellinger stabilized that. Most notably, when he was out with the eye injury, and this also coincided with Neal's injury, so, it wasn't all because Bellinger went out, but the blocking really suffered in that period, and Saquon was less effective. Bellinger really matters in the run game and that showed when he wasn't there.
Ezeudu showed some stoutness in the run game, needs work in the pass blocking department but is a nice developmental player. Flott made some nice contributions and also looks like he can at least have a bigger role in the future. Belton is a little of a mixed bag because while he did have some INTs, he also got lost in coverage plenty.
The other guys are an incomplete. I've also said I really have reservations about Wan'Dale's ability at his size to stay on the field. But there's no denying his ability, so hopefully he can show some durability when he returns next year.
This. Wow do I hope:
1) the replacement for the MetLife turf is better and
2) Schoen looks at what NFL teams with less injuries do to prevent injuries and copies them, which hopefully means retooling the strength & conditioning staff
But i really liked the draft class. Thibodeaux was a pick that a lot of GMs probably get scared to make. And Bellinger was a "this guy is just a football player" type pick. Get mid rounds guys that can play.
Of the 9 players taken in rounds 2-6, all of them would have been on the roster this year if healthy. That's a good hit rate on picks and also a statement about the quality of the Giants roster/ lack of $ to spend on free agents.
Also, the hit rate for the Giants on picks outside the first two rounds has been awful for the last 10+ years. Just look at the Giants drafts from 2009 until this one. The list of players taken in rounds 3+ to have at least 2 years as starters in the NFL (with Giants or elsewher) is a short one:
2009-2013: None
2014: Kennard (5th round)
2015: Hart (7th)
2016: Goodson (4th)
2018: Carter (3rd)
2018: Hill (3rd)
2019: Slayton (5th)
2020: Crowder (7th)
This draft still could yield potential starters in the 3rd (Flott, Ezeudu), 4th (Bellinger and Belton), 5th (McFadden), and 6th (Beavers).
Same here. Let's do this again after next season.

I didn't like the Wandale pick at first. However, I liked that they traded down and got more picks and were able to do so because they wanted him.
I liked that with a lot of the early picks the players were very young.
WR and CB are 2 of the most expensive positions in FA. So I liked using high draft resources for costly positions.
I also liked they drafted 3 OL.
That was a good write up, agree with Sy's evaluation.
INCOMPLETE.
ryan, unlike some here I appreciate your enthusiasm. However, how can you say that Beavers (especially) and Ezeudu are good, quality NFL players. I hope so but I think those two are TBD at this point.
