@MikeGarafolo

#Giants QB coach Shea Tierney will interview with the #Buccaneers for their vacant OC position, sources say. Tierney has worked closely with HC Brian Daboll with Alabama, the #Bills and NYG, and the development of Daniel Jones this past season has been noticed around the league.

Tierney

Was very influential in Jones’ growth this season. He would be a big loss for us. Maybe Webb can take over for him if he does leave.
we go 10-7-1

10-7-1. I like it. Let's pretend the Eagles playoff loss never happened.

It would really suck if we lost Kafka AND Tierney!
It would really suck
BlackLight : 1/27/2023 2:27 pm : link
if we lost Tierney only because he got an offer before Kafka got one, so we had nothing to offer him to get him to stay.
That is one ugly team
Sammo85 : 1/27/2023 2:50 pm : link
He may end up being fired with Bowles next offseason if he goes there and they may not be able to get a QB in there that can save it (rebuild).

Bucs are in ugly spot with a depletion of their offensive line lately, aging parts roster, ugly cap situation, poor coaching. They won a SB, but immediate future next 2-3 years does not look good.
The fact
Gogiantsgo : 1/27/2023 2:50 pm : link
That all of the offensive coaches are getting interviews speaks to the league-wide opinion on the development of Daniel Jones. People here are way underestimating the contract he would command on the open market
I don’t buy it
BigBlueShock : 1/27/2023 2:57 pm : link
Todd Bowles is a Defensive coach. Is he really gonna risk his career by hiring a first time Offensive coordinator? This is likely Bowles last opportunity at a HC gig. I don’t see him bringing in Tierney to implement whatever version of an offense that he may be trying to emulate from someone else. Bowles needs an established coordinator with an established system

Excellent points. The record this year was no fluke. Both sides of the ball were exposed.
Tierney should go for the interview experience only.

I’d argue the opposite here. They think the coaches are of value and elevated the player.

I think the NFL sees it as "9-7-1 with a bottom 5 roster".

It's obvious that between this, Kafka, & Wink...people in the league took notice of the staff Dabs assembled. It'd still suck to lose any of the three, but if we do...I'm confident in Dabs finding suitable replacements.
He’s not ready to be an OC I’d guess

1 year as QB coach.
Getting intel on Jones if he becomes FA?
Joining the Tampa staff right now is like jumping on the Titanic

just before it his the iceberg.
Bowles looks like, well, Bowles as a HC....lost.

They are up against the cap and likely to lose Brady.
You very well could be signing up for a 1 year job, and then get fired.

And you’d be wrong.
