this could also be a little Public relations gamesmanship. You have one candidate that everyone knows is probably not HC material but the owner just doing him a solid as a friend and honoring his name in public..Then the ultra sensitive NFL issue of hiring a minority coach . So the early reports are playing up these two guys but they could go in a different direction entirely. Guess we will see here.
I’d love to see what Wink can do in year 2 with a legit mlb, another cb, and depth at DT. But I also wish him success if he gets the nod to run his own team.

Yes, me too. Have hope beavers and DJ Davidson can give quality rotational reps at DT and ILB and I do think Arob is a better slot than Holmes if healthy.
Would love us to sign some front 7 in FA and then concentrate on wr,OL and cb in draft.
But we just need players, 8-10 more quality contributors to go to next level.
How have even equates in the process. It’s his team his money and he should be able to hire who he likes. Not saying it’s a smart decision but the only far thing is for the owner to hire who he really wants
Early on, they had 4th and short deep in our own end. Saturday initially sends out his offense to go for it, then calls timeout to send out his FG kicker.
If any encapsulates why Saturday shouldn't be a head coach, it was that moment. Not merely the decision to kick a FG in that moment (which we can probably debate without allowing ourselves the benefit of hindsight), but calling a timeout. He was not only (IMO) wrong in the decision he made, but he was unprepared. This was several weeks into his tenure as HC.
With me. That said, I’ll always root for him. Nonetheless, I can’t believe he’d be a serious candidate. It was bizarre to give him the interim job, but it could be accepted somewhat as just something to finish out an already lost season. To make it permanent would defy logic.

He clearly really wants Saturday which is utterly insane and unfair - not just to minority coaches.
A friend of mine used to work in the Colts organization and knows Saturday well. He says that Irsay has a lot of trust in Saturday

How Saturday can still be given another chance. Irsay really is whacky.

There are a bunch of HCs who had inauspicious/lousy learn on the fly interim HC jobs and did well moving forward their second or third year, I believe
