A big homestand upcoming for the Knicks, Lakers, Heat, Clippers, Sixers all at home, if they can go 2-2 that would be fantastic. Just have to tread water during this tough stretch.
Trade deadline is next week and based on reports the most active talks are with Milwaukee surrounding Reddish and Grayson Allen.
I think the main objective for the Knicks is to get a wing defender who can shoot to come off the bench..
I think if they can do that with Quickley coming off the bench, the bench unit can become a strength again.
I like Mcbride but his inability to be a catch and shoot player is hurting them..
Quickley needs to be in the finishing group regardless, Grimes or Rj can be in based on how they are playing and situation.
Should be a fun week and hopefully we get some rumors
I doubt it happens. Nothing ever happens.
I still can't quite figure how inconsistent this team is, but that's a lot of star power coming through the Garden. Should be fun.

I dont think its necassarily inconsistent, its just that some games the lack of a true star shines through..I think Brunson and Randle are 100% should be all stars, but they arent stars, Brunson can close games sometimes but Randle hasnt shown that abilith..
I also think the fit between Brunson, Rj and Randle is still a little clumsy and thats ehy the iso game comes into play to much
hahaha i dont think they get Allen, i think their main target is OG and Reddish will go out for Ibaka and George Hill..
The New York Knicks are one of five teams to have a losing record at home this season.
The other four teams:
Charlotte Hornets
Detroit Pistons
Houston Rockets
San Antonio Spurs
Otherwise known as the worst four teams in the NBA so far this season.
Suns have given permission to Crowder to speak to Milwaukee, i would assume about role and contract..
Knicks and Suns are both interested in OG, Kniicks have shown a willingness to offer multiple first round picks..It comes down to if Toronto is willing to trade him
Rj is very difficult to trade right now
I can’t tell if you’re serious or just trolling Greg, lol
You could close with randle, OG, Rj, Quivk or grimes and Brunson against most teams and the spacing and perimiter defense would be fantastic..
I think they have plenty of picks to be able to trade for OG and then in the offseason make a trade for a star..
and i only think they need 1

That would be a huge get for the Knicks.

Oh I'm dead serious, but the reason I want him so bad is mostly because of Greg. His irrational hatred of college players and continuing that for their careers is one of the most annoying things on bbi for me. Then there are people that follow his lead. Therefore, I want it!
What is a fair trade ceiling for OG? What is the most you'd be willing to give up?
For me, I'd trade Obi, McBride, and up to 1 lightly protected draft pick(maybe top 10)and 1 of the traded firsts we have. If none of our own, up to 3 of the traded picks.
I think a part of that is that more teams are playoff contenders now because of the play in.
I personally think Rose and co are a bit too conservative and afraid to take bigger swings/risks but in this case it does work in their favor. Hard to see them get fleeced, I think they just won't wind up sealing the deal instead.
The teams that are selling or on the brink have set high prices for their role players..
They will go down as you get closer..I also think certain teams are afraid to blow it up, like the Bulls and Raptors..
Wisconsin,my alma mater, was in the final against Coach K and Duke.
We were all set to finally win a NATTYYYYY,when some Freshman came off the bench and took over the game.
That Kid's name was Grayson Allen.
So forgive me if I am biased in this conversation.
The gobert trade's side effect is everyone thinks their bench players are worth first round picks now.
OG is probably a precursor move to trading RJ and landing a superstar...he is an excellent complimentary piece to a championship team potentially. He is the young Draymond Green of the NBA. Many of the championship teams have that kind of player on the roster.

Has there ever been a season with so few trades? Unless I’m missing something there has barely been any trades this year and doesn’t seem to have any major trades in the works.

I agree with this and I also believe that deal had an effect on the negotiations for Mitchell

help but he doesn't move the needle enough to start giving up our future unprotected picks IMO. Certainly would be willing to discuss the other picks we have coming. What's interesting to me is what the Knicks' interest in OG signals about how they feel about RJ.

Draymond and OG may have some similarities as defenders, but that's where the comparison ends. They're quite different offensively.

Sure but both while elite top 5 NBA defenders in their prime that can gaurd mutliple positions both also have an offensive game and are not Frank Nkitilinas out there either.

The Nuggets believe they have traction on potentially acquiring a first-round pick for Bones Hyland, per @msinger
Point taken the offensive game is not Draymonds . But he came intot je NBA very raw and has improved every year offensively. He may never be Green offensively but he is already a decent offensive player and could still improve a bit more. That said in no way should he command a Superstar haul but Obi and 2 picks or 3 picks with 2 protected I would do.

Bones Highland is a solid player, and I could see a contender giving up a 1 for him pretty easily but I don't see him being a great fit with the Knicks roster.

I was just coming to post this, i havnt watched enough of Denver but i thought he was having a good year...How is his defense?
interesting than yeah
Two defense-first types -- Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown -- are thriving on offense orbiting Nikola Jokic. Michael Porter Jr. will always skew offense, but he's made strides on the other end.
Next up: Hyland, their brash sixth man, shooting 44% on 3s and building bob-and-weave pick-and-roll chemistry with Jokic. Denver needs Hyland's offense in its endless quest to tread water when Jokic rests. When great defenses take away the easy stuff, the Nuggets will be tempted to shove Hyland into crunch-time lineups alongside Jokic, Jamal Murray, and perhaps Porter.
The Nuggets don't need Hyland to be a good defender, or even an average one. Apex scorers will hunt him, and the Nuggets know how to rotate and cover for that. What they can't absorb is Hyland igniting fires all over the floor, against every rote action.
(Missing embedded video here of Hyland going under a screen and getting completely caught to give up an open 3)
Hyland flubs the most basic pindown imaginable for Shaedon Sharpe. Screen navigation on and off the ball is a constant issue. If Hyland wants to play major postseason minutes, he has to clean this stuff up. He ranks dead last among all players in defensive estimated plus-minus and 445th in ESPN's adjusted defensive plus-minus."
