I have seen the Eagles do this multiple times where they show they are going for 2 to try to get a penalty so its at the 1 yard line. If they dont get the call they call a timeout and then kick.
Does anyone else see this as a bad rule? I think once you declare what you are doing to the refs you have should have to stay with that decision since its a difference in where the ball is placed.
I guess its not that big of a deal but I dont like that rule.
It so happened to occur at the end of halves, so worth it for them at that time. In those cases, I think that’s just great coaching. Especially for a team who takes “advantage” of the rules on and short situations…
changing a rule that is a legal yet also a silly exploitation would be similar to the change they made on the multiple different penalties keeping the clock running rule a few years ago.

I have a hunch that the line up for two during the Super Bowl and run the play… if I were calling the play ( the thought makes me barf-) I would hurry to the line set for one count and snap the ball. KC has to be ready for that and stuff the shit outta it! Would love to hear a KC defender say “ shut the F##k up- we know what you’re doing 🥴👍
So you lineup for 2 and get an offside you still have to go for 2 at the 7 yard line instead of then being allowed to gofor one at the 25. If the ball was placed at the same spot it wouldnt matter but since its different I think once you choose you are stuck with that decision.
The rule that should change is the pushing the runner rule. It has gotten ridiculous. Line up with two big people in the backfield and shove the QB forward.
