The Cardinals will interview Giants OC Mike Kafka

back in October when we thought there was a chance he'd be hired away after one season.

I don't know if I've seen so much gushing about creativity in an offensive scheme before from people like Baldy.

Please give us at least one more year. Or hope that the scheme is all Daboll (a distinct possibility).

I hope he sees the demand and realizes to some degree he can pick his spot to give himself the best chance to last.

I wouldn't tie myself to that bad attitude munchkin, even if he was healthy, and not making 45 mill/ year

it would be really hard to turn down a HC job when you have the chance. Things change quickly in the league, never know when that kind of chance will come up again.

Presumably, since he does qualify as a Rooney Rule candidate.

But I read somewhere he'd need to be here longer than one year before being hired away for us to receive compensation.

His grandparents came here from Puerto Rico but he was born here. Still, if he’s at least half Puerto Rican a good argument can be made that he meets the qualifier for compensation. I wonder how clearly the rules spell out which ethnicities, what percent you need to be etc…

I'd be shocked if Cards went with someone like Kafka after the failed Kliff experience.

bit of "how'd you do it" questioning. I remember when Wink said something about his Giants interview he was somewhat guarded at first until he felt a little more comfortable.

The league is clearly impressed with the reclamation Kafka orchestrated with Jones.

there are only a handful every year and you never know if you'll get another shot. He's hot this year and maybe not next year. Coaches get very little leeway anymore, even coaches making the playoffs are in jeopardy of losing their jobs these days.

I hope him and Wink stay.

I also had no idea that Kafka has any minority heritage in his background, but as for your post, it was his maternal grandfather that came from Puerto Rico (his name is Vega), while Kafka's surname is patrilineal (and is indeed European).
