I remember many were clamoring for Ryans. That was also the Greenway draft, right? I believe he was taken a pick after Kiwanuka.

Unbelievable: The #Broncos spent today trying to hire DeMeco Ryans AGAIN today before he recommitted to the #Texans, sources say. When he agreed to terms with the Texans, they moved and finalized Sean Payton.

was hoping he would get the job, so Kafka might stay for another year here. I don't think Kafka is ready for any job as a HC as yet, IMO.

Probably bring in someone who can run Shanny's offense and then they have to pick the right QB.

Seemed very well thought of already in that organization and I wish him well.

I just have zero confidence in the Texans ownership and front office.

I think Ryans has the potential to be a really great HC, but it's insane to me to think of Sean Payton as the consolation prize vs. a young defensive coordinator who has never been a HC at any level.

High risk/high reward with young guys: some turn into Shanahan and McVay (and we hope, Daboll); some turn into McAdoo, Judge, or Hackett. Knowing how the NFL operates, I can't imagine a team choosing between Ryans and Payton and having Ryans ahead of Payton on their list.

Payton comes at a massive cost in both pay and picks. He also guarantees nothing and might not be that trustworthy to justify the compensation.

I’d take Ryan’s if I were starting from scratch. I’d take Payton if I’m ready to win soon.
