I thought this article I remember reading in the Collins/Fassel years warranted a post-in lieu of the Tiki v.Saquon discussion. Tiki was considered a 3rd down back until he began training on this hill. He increased his V02 max by an order of magnitude and helped get his best years going.
It would be an interesting discussion to have with Saquon who is mostly into power and short burst explosive runs. The great thing about this hill training is also strength but lactate clearing and faster recovery. The faster the recovery the less likelihood of tearing injuries or injuries inflicted on you due to fatigue and weakness. Worth a read if that's your bag.

There was a segment in Tiki & Tierney where explained the circumstances around his retirement and his brief rift between him and Eli. He's probably explained himself in other mediums.
From what I remember... He made the decision to retire before 2006 season. One of the reporters reported it even when he didn't confirm with him that he was retiring and I believe was supposed to be one of those off the record statements. He took the blame for it too.
I'll see if I can find the video.
Seemed reasonable to me.
Found it. Tiki's explanation of his retirement and relationship with Eli. - ( New Window )
His ACL injury happened at the beginning of a game when he wasn't fatigued and was a non-contact injury. Sometimes injuries of the join happens. Additionally, his ankle injury happened because he stepped on a foot. Not sure any fatigue or other factors contributed to it other than bad luck.
Good on Tiki for working the hill into his routine. However, I'm almost certain that Saquon isn't lack in his own training when it comes to similar areas.
