Giants GM Joe Schoen watched the American roster’s receivers pretty closely today at @seniorbowl next to, who else, Bills GM Brandon Beane.

Maybe. Can see Wink looking really at anybody that’s standout on D including DL/LB. Henderson more focused on the DBs.

At the start of next season for different reasons we may not have (Slayton-FA, Wan'dale-knee Golladay-done and Sheperd-knee). There's no telling how effective the injured players are going to be coming back.
That's 4 of a typical active roster of 6 WR that need to be
added for beginning of season.
Hope Joe gets some good ones lined up for draft. Average WR will not do. We need a Jamar Chase type.

The early to mid 90s before Toomer emerged was pretty bad as far as WR’s I guess Calloway was a decent player but I don’t remember much else there.
I actually think Schoen is going to very heavy on D but we will see how it plays out.
Wink will be all over the ILB's, corners and I think he will also want a DE. It was a very strange D for Wink from how his D's have played in the past stopping the run.

I can't remember a time how weak we are at WR then the present. This goes back to mid 70's for me.

Engram till '93. Mike Sherrad.

The Word on the Street is there is no Jamar Chase type in this draft.

There most likely isn't a Ja'Marr Chase type in this draft, but that doesn't really matter to us anyway. If there was he'd be long gone before our pick. There are plenty of very good WRs in this draft.
There's some other Day 3 guys that could be of interest. Jonathan Mingo, Ole Miss, and Trey Palmer, Nebraska, Dontavion Wicks, Virginia, throw in Ronnie Bell, Michigan.
I think Wicks is really interesting as a late round flyer (pun intended, he can fly).

They had crappy WRs when Simms was QB. The Giants have rarely had really good WRs, except for Eli's time with Plaxico, Toomer, then VC, Nicks and Manningham.
The Giants have been a WR poor team many times and many season.

Simms never had great WRs, but he did have Bavaro for a few years, which is more than DJ has had, so far. Lionel Manual also wasn't too shabby, from what I recall, and also better than what DJ has had, at least for a couple yrs.

That was a different era in the NFL too. The run game was so much more important. The new NFL rules favor the passing game tremendously now.
DJ needs WRs for this offense to be maximized. Preferably a true established #1 that can hit the ground running year 1.

Nathaniel Dell Houston WR and Tyrique Stevenson Miami CB looked very impressive too.
Not this year, We made the playoffs, need PLAYMAKERS.
(1) Whether by trade or in the draft - Top tier "X" receiver
- Look what the Eagles did by stealing AJ Brown & DeVonte Smith (from our draft) or the difference Tyreek Hill made with the Dolphins -
(2) Same-same, as above - Top tier Corner
- Again, Eagles, when they stole James Bradberry from us
(3) Same-same, as above - Top tier MLB
We HURTING big time, in the middle, since Blake Martinez left
Everything else is gravy.
