so basically half the people I know in town are Philly fans, while the rest are Giants/Jets. And not surprisingly, most of the Philly fans I know are annoying as hell when it comes to their fandom. I received numerous texts last week after the Giants got their ass kicked by Philly.
brother-in-law is from Cherry Hill, NJ and unfortunately turned my sister and nephews into Philly fans. Luckily they're all awesome and cool, otherwise the past few years would have been insufferable.
I live in Portland, Oregon and there’s an Eagles Bar in my neighborhood. All the damn fair weather, root-for-the-winner fans seem to be Eagles fans this year. It’s painful.

Went to cherry hill to train for a job once. The single most disgusting place I have ever been to. Went to a strip club which was literally a single wide trailer and stuck my thumbs in something calling itself Kat......it truly was the worst time of my life
and they’re fine, not the typical Eagle fans most people think of.
Though having grown up and now living within an hour of Philly for most of my life I definitely get to see the full gamut of Eagle fans. Hopefully KC shuts them down but I feel like it’s the Eagles’ year.
he grew up in SWB area. Eagles/Phillies fan. Moved to Southern Tier of NY and raised three sons. All are Giants/Mets fans. He's not an obnoxious fan by any stretch of the imagination, so most of my divisional hatred has been reserved for Braves and Cowboys.
I have a friend who's an Eagles fan - no problem whatsoever
it freakin painful with the sixers, phillies and Iggles
Imagine being at a house to watch the giants vs iggles game with 4 other couples and you are the only giant fan
That was painful Looking forward to the day we flip the script
Why would you have subjected yourself to that?
I also live here.. refused to watch that game with anyone.
What might be the worst is the indoctrination of my children. Signing Fly Eagles Fly at school, having spirit days for Phillies/Eagles gear (luckily my kids dont do that)...
Such a different dynamic vs NY where fanbase growing up was split for everyone except Knicks (I guess even then you had a lot of Bulls fans)...
and I know a couple who are actually really cool, despite their deep fandom.
But they’re….rare birds.
To me, the measure of whether a Philly area fan is "cool" is whether they acknowledge that the reputation of "being drunken, belligerent, violent, vulgar, insulting, etc, etc fans" is embarrassing and not something to be proud of...
I congratulated a group of them the other day.
i was shocked that they, 1 super bowl got so lippy.
i said it took Pats fans nearly 4 super bowls to get this annoying
I'm originally from Rahway, but now I live in Glassboro...
Having spent 20+ years in the Philly area I know quite a few fans. Most are actually willing to have good, reasonable football debates and are rational about their team.
However, the fans that tend to populate the parking lots at The Linc are the ones that cause me to never want to venture to that stadium for a game ever again.
A dude who attended my good buddy's bachelor party in Montreal was from Doylestown, PA & was a huge Eagles fan. He was a good guy from the limited interactions we had. He gave me some good natured ribbing about the '10 Giants Eagles game @ MetLife. But-& this was in 2013 or 2014-he had a good amount of respect for the Giants, seeing that we had won 2 Lombardis in the past decade at the time. He mentioned he was envious of that type of success.
He's actually a good kid, and came over for the last game of the regular season and brought food. Also knew to stay away for the playoffs. I texted him a congrats and told him I absolutely despise his team's coach on Monday. His response:
"To put it respectfully (since he did get us to the super bowl) Nick Sirianni is the epitome of someone not from Philly that tries to act as Philly as possible. I agree he’s annoying but he backs it up I guess"
He actually was excited to see the Giants doing well and thinks it makes for a better rivalry. So thankfully, not all of them are bad
So yeah, between high school and working in Galloway and Atlantic City from 2006-2013, I knew a ton of them. They're idiots. Pure fucking garbage. I hated them all. Smug. The way they talk to you was as if being an Eagle fan was better.
Let me just say, it was beyond a sin those cunt trash losers won in 2017 but I'd rather it be then as opposed to when they went in 2004 with McNabb and T.O. because that would've been a disaster. Now, I never interact with any Eagle fans or really anyone from high school. They're all old and married. The 2017 reaction was kind of boring around here.
One cool thing is when I was working down there in February 2008 and the Giants won, they were just dead quiet. They had nothing. Not a peep. Swept their asses and won a Super Bowl against an undefeated team.
Also, another thing to note, when I attend concerts in Philly, it seemes like when the Eagles chant busts out, it's not as intense ... as it used to be.
Doesn't seem like people are as passionate about the NFL like in the 80s, 90s and even 00s.

the dooshbag that sits next to me at work is an eagle fan too. (he's ok though)

I'm hoping he has a miserable Super Bowl Sunday.
