Anyone else been doing these? I do PFN. Although worthless, particularly before FA, I always like to do them to see what value is out there. Interested to see what other people are getting. I had to reset it once as Meyer was available in the 2nd, and that was beyond unrealistic. I went:
25 Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois
57 Cedric Tillman WR Tenn
89 AT Perry WR Wake
102 DeMarvion Overshown LB Tex
128 Sam LaPorta TE Iowa
162 Keondre Coburn DT Tex
208 Byron Young Edge Tenn
219 Laiatu Latu Edge UCLA
242 Bumper Pool LB Ark
245 Michael Turk P Okl
254 Car'Ron Kelly S NC
In mocks, I'm finding the top edges and WR gone. I don't particularly like going TE in the 1st. Witherspoon, Jackson, and Flott should be a nice trio.
I don't think the Giants will have a lot of FA money after signing their own guys. Top FA I would sign would be Isaac Seamalo, the Eagles G. Rest of them would be mostly value FAs. The Jihad Wards of the world.
I don't think they will trade for a WR, as the draft capital and $$ to pay them is prohibitive imo. Doubling up on WR works here for me. Tillman, Perry, Robinson, Hodgins, James (does Robinson slot work while out), Johnson. LaPorta and Bellinger additional weapons at TE.
Coburn is a big body, who should be able to give Lawrence and Williams some relief on early downs and keep them fresh.
Edge was neglected here (can't seem to get everything you want), but hopes are that at least one of Latu or Young can be a good 3rd edge behind Thibs and Ojulari.
I want competition at P. Use a 7th on a guy like Turk.
I used to do it all the time when I was 15 years old and the Giants were looking for Tittle’s replacement.
are we going to sign Bismo Funyons to the practice squad?
I don't disagree. Would be thrilled with him, Porter, Ringo or Gonzalez. If all are gone, I'd target WR and look to get a Ricks, Forbes, or Williams on Day 2.
If the top WR and CB are gone and they don't see value at 25, go Meyer if still there, LB, or G in Torrence. I believe in positional strength in targeting QB, OT, edge, WR, and CB early, but sometimes drafting at 25, you may just have to another position to get what you feel is an impact player.
Truth is nobody knows, and it is for fun. Too many things will change before the draft. It is fun though.
25. Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois
57. Jalin Hyatt WR Tennessee
89. Jack Campbell LB Iowa
102. Keeanu Benton DT Wisconsin
128. Kenny McIntosh RB Georgia
163. Rashad Torrence II S Florida
208. Braeden Daniels OT Utah
219. Laiatu Latu EDGE UCLA
242. Tyson Bagent QB Shepherd
245. Kemari Averett TE Bethune Cookman
246. Viliami Fehoko EDGE San Jose State
254. Juice Scruggs OG Penn State
I find First-pick too unrealistic with the trade offers
It's pick 25, if the top TE falls, that's amazing value....assuming its a bluechip prospect. Outside of specials, almost no position should be eliminated at pick 25. The importance of QB's, WR's, CB's, OL and DL means great players will fall at other positions and present great value.
25 B.J. Ojulari
57 Cedric Tillman
89 Jack Campbell
102 Luke Musgrave
128 Jammie Robinson
162 Jaylon Jones
208 Malik Cunningham
219 Tiawan Mullen
242 Arquon Bush
245 Josh Whyle
254 Justin Eboigbe
Would have liked a corner earlier.

I said the following: "if the top WR and CB are gone and they don't see value at 25, go Meyer if still there, LB, or G in Torrence. The Giants are usually picking in the top 10-15. I believe in prioritizing drafting the higher value positions. I don't think it's particularly controversial. Schoen has mentioned that. Reese did that.
QB, OT, DE, CB, WR usually cost the most in FA, so I favor drafting them high. As noted above, drafting at 25 is different, and the Giants may find themselves looking at the 5th WR or 4th CB vs top 1 or 2 LB, top G, or top TE. In that scenario, I noted I have no problem going with that as BPA may very well be at one of those positions. I favor BPA with a strong bias towards the high dollar positions (QB, OT, DE, CB, WR)
Maybe one day I'll just start reading magazines or get a website subscription like a normal person, but this works for me for now.

Same. It's part of how I get introduced to some of the prospects as I do a little digging researching names. I also use the Fanspeak one. I did one using Drafttek Big Board. Note, I realize that most if not all these picks have no chance of being at the pick I took them, but this is an exercise to get to know players, it's for fun, and to spur discussion. This draft is admittedly highly unrealistic, as simulators always are. I already did 5 rounds because even 5 rounds is deeper than I want to go at this point. Here are my results:
Rd 1, Pick 25: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU - SIX corners taken by pick 25 robbing me of value (a theme in this entire draft, you'll notice I didn't get one through round 5, this is because value was never there, they were constantly overdrafted). Johnston though is a huge WR target with incredible size-speed ratio and big production. Easily slots in as #1 WR right away.
Rd 2, pick 57: O'Cyrus Torrence, OG, Florida - Just incredible value here, Torrence is a monster who slots inside and will blow up people in the run game and anchors well in the pass block. My priority would rather be for a Center, but as with all my picks, not going to force anything.
Rd 3, pick 89: Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech - The silliness continues. Not a chance he goes this late, but since he was there, he would form a terrific tandem with Thibs and move Ojaluri to rotational and situational pass rusher, where he may be best suited.
Rd 3, pick 100: Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College - I expect Flowers to go approximately 60 picks earlier than this. I double up here at the position because the value is so good, Flowers is versatile, can play the slot or the outside, is a perfect complement to Johnston, and may end up being the more dynamic pro. One of my favorite players in this draft, particularly for team fit in the Daboll system.
Rd 4, pick 128: DT Kobie Turner, Wake Forest - Another player who will likely be taken well before this spot, Turner has a tremendous motor, was named 3rd Team All-ACC. He has some pass rush ability, great agility, hustle player, really like him, can play the 3-tech or the 5-tech. I like him more as a complement to Leonard Williams on the other side than I do as an eventual replacement for Williams.
Rd 5, pick 162: RB Eric Gray, Oklahoma - Gray has a thick, compact frame, blends receiving ability with tremendous balance and agility. Has enough speed to occasionally go the distance, but will break enough long ones because of his dynamic ability to make guys miss in short quarters. Gray has the goods to be a lead back if the Giants part ways with Saquon, and would be a terrific third down back right away in the short-term.
Also considered Matthew Bergeron here, OT, Syracuse, as a value-swing tackle with upside, thought Gray was too good to pass up.
JGM's have gone after skill positions how has that worked out

We are losing (?) in part for more than one reason. Part of that reason is not having a credible weapon on the outside that dictates coverage and can make big plays.
Part of it is trenches on both sides of the ball, yes.
A big part of it is quality depth at a lot of positions. But WR must be a priority in this draft. Because our offense relies on DJ's designed runs and non-designed runs, as well as Saquon (if he returns), but even if he doesn't, you have to have at least one player on the outside that can really hurt a defense to loosen up those boxes. Really the Giants need two receivers.
