severance payments...not sure he doesn't have a legit beef but the Giants sure dodged a major bullet with this guy...and you know Mara and Tisch would not have acknowledged their mistake and moved on as quickly as Tepper did...
we just had to endure Joe Judge for two years...

Didn't Rhule have a much longer contract?
What a miserable hiring process that was in hindsight.

So was the one prior and probably the one before that
Bullet dodged in that if we had Rhule, he probably wouldn't have melted down as spectacularly as Judge did at the end of 2021, and he'd still be the coach entering 2022, which means we'd lose out on Daboll.
It sucks to have endured either of them, but the Panthers are just beginning to pick up the pieces, while we've already moved on to better things.

Yeah - 7 years and about $60 million, IIRC !!!
He lasted 2.5 years.
hahahahaha!

Judge had a five year deal, Rhule had a seven year deal.
This entire board was clamoring for Rhule and was cursing out DG and Mara for "losing" him to the Panthers.
And Gettleman, say what you want about his draft picks, never found the right coach. And that was as big a failing as anything else he did.

the Gettleman praise is so ridiculous. He hired Shurmur then he was torn between two disasters Judge and Rhule.

How soon we forget!
What a crew.
You wanted Rich Rodriguez?

We don't know that. Rhule seems to have thin skin too. We already suspected that Mara was very reluctant to fire Judge until Tisch stepped in.
His contract credits the Panthers with an offset for whatever he gets under his college contract, so he has no claim on the entire Panthers' salary. The only issue is whether the raises in later years (after the Panthers' deal would have expired) of his college deal are big enough that more money should count as an offset than just the amount during the overlap between the two contracts.
What a miserable hiring process that was in hindsight.
+1
Rhule was a 1 hit wonder and Judge was hired because of the guys he worked for ... both used car salesmen, wealthy used car salesmen.

Rhule has a skeevy look to him, but I don't think there was anything in his past that would make you worry about something like that.
At the time they were also paying Shurmur because they fired him. That's a tough pill to swallow.
You can dodge a bullet while stepping into the path of a freight train.
Exactly this. Tepper has had a lot of issues blow up in his face since becoming owner. The biggest being the practice facility debacle in South Carolina. He's not a very good owner, and for the most part, the fans do not like him.

Don’t remember what judge was rumored to have been hired for but it was nothing close to Rhule. Not sympathizing with the wealthy Maras but technically speaking that money is now better spent elsewhere.

Absolutely but I’m sure they’d rather be paying Shurmur and Judge over Shurmur and Rhule. I bet Rhule made more than both combined, actually.

The Giants were paying three head coaches last year. I'm not sure anyone should be praising the Giants simply for not hiring Rhule (or not giving out as long of a contract), especially when you consider that they probably would have hired Rhule if they could have.
