Time flies, but manana marks 15 years since we knocked off the then undefeated 19-0 Patriots. I don't see that win ever being topped in my lifetime, absent us besting a 20-0 AFC squad.
99.9% of people were taking the Patriots, but I felt confident going into that game. My reasons for feeling as such: 1) I thought we were playing the best ball of our season, 2) The Patriots seemed to have peaked a month or two prior to the Super Bowl, 3) How we played them in the season finale, a game we very well could have won, 4) Our DL vs. their OL, & 5) I was getting 'Team of Destiny' vibes with the Giants.
Man. What an awesome night that was. Stressful AF-Brady to Moss on that 3rd down on the Pats final possession probably took 5 year off my life-but what a win. As Mara said, the best win in Giants history. I think that was true at the time & nothing in the last 15 years makes me feel any differently.
I’ve said it on here many many times, I’ve got a son, I’m married, I’ve accomplished a lot. That night I experienced a euphoria not caused by a drug that I have never come close to. The best night ever…
As we were keeping the score low, I grew more confident that we could win this game.
I thought we were toast after the fumble where Pierre Woods seemed to recover, only to see Bradshaw come out with it.
I also thought it was over when Eli almost went down until the Helmet Catch. I thought we’d win but was afraid of the possibility of a tie by NE and losing in OT.
Then, they did.
Was pretty sure NE would win.
One of my greatest sports experience ever (obviously).
Wrong game brotha

Went to the giants bar just in time to see Manning to Manningham
Wrong game brotha
Haha. Yes, another great Super Bowl win vs. NE. But wrong game.
So I drove down to NJ to watch with all my siblings—just us—all crazy fans since the 70s. Talk about jubilation! One of my very, very favorite memories.
Again, that pats team scored 589 points. And they did it against anyone and everyone. They allowed 274 which is even more impressive when you consider that they held big leads virtually every game.
The teams were very close as it turned out, but the pats journey to that game was fucking ridiculous, forget the undefeated number the other stats are even crazier.
18-1 peace.
What I didn't really understand was people predicting a blowout victory for New England like a month after they beat us by three points.
I thought Eli could do well too after the last game of the season. I knew it would be hard and we would have to play our best, but I new we had a good chance to win if we could get to Brady.
I was in college in Massachusetts. Watched the game with about 25 Patriots fans and one Raiders fan who was the only other person rooting with me for the Giants.
They were devastated and it was glorious.
I still felt the Giants were probably going to lose.
OTOH, in SB 46, I felt like the Giants had an equal or better chance to win than the Pats.
Controlling the tempo of the first half was a huge factor...
I rode that wave for a long time.
That day was criminally slow as well. I busied myself setting up my Xbox Live account when I woke up. I was having so much trouble doing it through the "Ethernet cable" way so I just got myself a wireless adapter and it worked like a charm.
One of the best things Buck said was "Finally. Football." when they were about to kickoff. I watched 0 pregame show.
Super Bowl 46 I was 220% confident. I thought no way in fucking hell does New England have a chance in this one. Of course it never goes that way. I'm not really a fan of conspiracies and all that fixing stuff but that Boothe call was b.s. and the refs have an obvious influence on games to make them turn out a certain way.

I wasn't grinning. I was screaming at my TV the entire time that the offense needed to wake the fuck up and do something. Up until the Kevin boss 45 yard reception I thought the offense was really going to spoil the defense's effort in holding down the fort. I know it ended well with The Dramatics with the Tyree helmet catch but man was I pissed when Eli missed that throw where he had Plaxico Burress wide open when he was rolling to his left. It was when they were winning 10-7.
If anybody got lucky during these Giants runs it was the opponent. I remember RW Mcquarters had an interception against the packers in the NFCCG in their own territory and on his run back he fumbled the ball in it bounced right into a Packers offensive lineman who was standing right there. You talk about fucking lucky look at that play. Or anytime some scumbag Cowboys fan wants to bring up the Patrick Crayton drop I just slapped them in the face and mentioned how Aaron Ross dropped an easy one that lead to a Dallas TD.
I can go all day. Those teams are I will stick up for and defend until I die. It's been 15 years and I don't think I've heard one solid argument that changed my mind about that epic run.
Tampa never had a chance.
No way Coughlin was going to lose to Dallas three times
Pats had peaked a few weeks previously. We were peaking at the right time
Packers…it had Green Bay win written all over it. The cold. The stadium. Favre. I was worried. Once we beat them, Pats were done.
Then the long first drive and it was like they can do this.
The 2007 team was like Marvin Hagler or Julio Cesar Chavez, just wore you down with their physicality and mental toughness. As long as they limited the mistakes they were going to be in it.
It was mathematically "possible" for a team to go 20-0 even with a 16 game season.
Mathematically impossible.
