Who is going to pony up for a headcase rental?
He is the type that if he doesn't get moved he will leave and go on vacation to Japan for the rest of the season

his perspective. If the Nets aren't going to pay him this summer (which would seem to be the smart move given his history), he's better off getting moved to a team (along with his bird rights) that will. IF he gets to unrestricted free agency this summer and his incumbent team doesn't have interest in a big money deal, he's limited to teams with cap space or sign-and-trades. *good luck*
and thought it was really strange. He wasn't his usual arrogant self when talking to those beneath him (in his mind). Obviously he was just on his best behavior while trying to secure the max extension.

What's the list of teams that are opening the checkbook for a significant commitment to this loon?

it's obviously not a long list. Maybe one or both of the LA teams? But once the deadline passes, he's likely looking at MLE money this summer at best. If he can maneuver himself to one of those teams at the deadline, they can pay him more.
Luka is playing legendary basketball and the west is wide open.
yeah with luka it can be the cleveland formula, hope he carries them with all time performances and kyrie hits enough big shots when it matters.
that's not a great strategy to win a championship but i dont think dallas has any other path.
dinwiddie and a couple picks gives the nets a guard they know/liked plus ammo to go shopping ahead of the deadline. or if they prefer cash in other assets.
shams says lakers, phoenix, and dallas are interested so i assume bidding starts with lakers 2 unprotected firsts + filler.
Lakers, Suns and Mavericks have emerged as suitors for Kyrie..
I wonder if this actually gets done quick..
i would bet there are people in the nets org happy this happened the way it did, and were planning for this possibility. i doubt it was their plan a but i think everyone will breathe easier when he's gone.
i'd also be a little surprised if they don't just tell him to stay home until the deadline if it's not done quick. but i think there's probably motivation to get it done quick because i think they want to add picks to shop for others ahead of the deadline (GTJ? OG? Collins? Poetl?).
I know you're kidding. But I don't want Kyrie Irving anywhere the near the Knicks. Not the upgrade they need. Maybe the Lakers would take him, though. Kyrie, LeBron and AD is a formidable lineup, and LeBron might be able to keep him in line. Maybe.
the other odd thing about phoenix is how do they salary match?
Hes off today

Lakers are the only team that makes sense to me.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's the Lakers he wants to go too, that team had funny vibes when they were in town.
I simply cant imagine them doing that, thankfully.
It would be a blast.
What a massive pain in the ass.

I don’t see how he could. The PR alone would be disastrous given all the shit Kyrie has said and the demographic of a big chunk of the fan base.

I’m an asshole, but I’d do it.
It would be a blast.
Better yet this.
And yes I’m a fucking idiot.
Yeah but to their credit, the NBA handles many situations far better than the NFL does.
Let's see what the NFL does about Joe Mixon, for example.
Australia would be an easy stop
dallas has always seemed like a good fit and it sounds like they are interested. bring back dinwiddie, dfs, and some picks to add other players.

on top of the staggering amount he already gave up the last couple years.
Right now they cant send a pick out until 27
Right now they cant send a pick out until 27
if they did that i think they'd be able to send nets their '25 and '27 firsts?
lakers can only send '27/'29 i think?
phoenix has all their picks so they can make the best offer but they are probably the least desperate. are they motivated enough?
Right now they cant send a pick out until 27
what are they giving us to do that for them. otherwise id say piss off
i assume bridges is off the table. ayton probably should be unless there's still bad blood there. paul for kyrie would be bizarre.
so that deal probably needs a 3rd team to take a bunch of filler salary from phoenix.

I dont know but it could be beneficial to the Knicks if they are in talks with Toronto, gives them another unprotected pick without using their own
