have Jones at 32-35 million and Taylor at 6 million that is almost 25 % cap at one position.

at 6 mill not like he is going to win us a superbowl. Get someone at 1 mill that has exp to fill in for a couple games if needed. Heck draft a qb in the 7th round if needed.

as a developmental type and third string. Webb is likely retiring to be a coach and Taylor is in his last year of a two year deal and so I could definitely see them looking to draft a guy, but not very high up in the draft.

Short memory. For $1 million you get garbage as a backup. In today's game with the 17 games you need a competent back up in case your starter misses a couple of games, Don't you remember the garbage we had on our roster in 2021. Once Jones went down the QBs were brutal and the team was not watchable.

He wants a good experienced backup QB. He wants a fighting chance to win if Jones has to miss a game. And don’t mind drafting a QB but not with premium picks. Not this year.

and the TE Durham who's at the Senior Bowl, absolutely killed my Syracuse team all day. One blunder by each cost them the game. O'Connell tried a risky short pass to avoid a sack and gave up a pick six to a defensive lineman. After Durham's last touchdown, he taunts the Syracuse defenders and gets an unsportsmanlike penalty. Sets the stage for SU's game winning TD with 7 seconds left. A lot of really good football by both of them, but two really bad plays.

Niners would probably have loved to have him after Purdy went down. Experienced quality back-ups are needed.
