Stupid to begin with. Trading for a pitcher with a shoulder problem. Going to be one of their worst deals ever.
Yeah, this should be a surprise to no one since Montas was on the DL twice with the A's last year before the trade. Cashman is Stick Michael wannabe without the talent. But as long as Hal is making enough money to play with his horses in Ocala, what the heck.
I said to my kids a few weeks ago when they announced
forward. Maybe Medina will finally harness his talent after getting out of the Yankees system.
And don't forget Wesneski for Effross. Who knew trading for someone 5 years older and throws 10 mph slower wouldn't be a good idea? And Alcantera may be better than any of the OF we have too.

There is nothing similar between Cashman and Stick.
They made it simply to say they traded for a pitcher after losing out on Castillo. Trivino was the better player for them by far and the only one of the two with a future here.
Let's use this thread to discuss the system. Only 3 prospects on the
And a few weeks ago was said he’ll miss a month, but if this is true, why did Cashman pay him $7.5M to just sit out? Especially since NYY and Hal Steinbrenner have luxury tax problems where he doesn’t want to go to the final threshold?

What is it the Yankees medical staff just learned now?
They didn’t know at the end of last season? If necessary this should not have been delayed. If that’s the situation it’s irresponsible.

But as been pointed out, the source of the surgery rumor is questionable.
Rodon
Cortes
Severino
German
Is potentially a filthy starting five.
A big question mark as always is health but if these guys stay healthy that is as good a 1-5 in all of Baseball.
