Charlie Chan was a fictional detective for the Honolulu police department. He started out as a sleuth in a series of novels by Earl Biggers but soon graduated to the movies. He somewhat reminds me of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot in that he rarely uses violence in the form of hand fighting or shooting a gun - preferring to solve crime with his brains. What a novel idea.
He was played by a succession of actors and always had help from sons he called number one son or number two son, etc. The link below tells about the character and the series, but if you search on youtube, you can find many individual movies.

This is the winner.
I have DVDs of the movies as well (and they are on YouTube) they are just fun lazy day viewing. Mr Moto is fun as well.
