Probably as a special advisor to Epps. This was being whispered when the Mets had Old Timers Day. It'll also ease his transition to being part of Buck's staff eventually. I think he said he was considering adding him. Anywho, Beltran never ever belonged in a broadcast booth of any kind, but a buck is a buck.

Agreed. The guy knows his baseball and is sure to be a positive addition. He just can’t comfortably get his thoughts across in a booth.

Well put. The Mets have two bright guys now in a managerial pipeline in Chavez and Beltran for whenever Buck wants to say goodnight Gracie.
Is probably fired if the Yankees don’t at least make the WS but Rojas has a better role right now with the Yankees than whatever bone the Mets could throw him. Their full staff has already been announced. 3B coach for the Yankees is a relatively “high profile” job for a guy looking to get back into being a manager vs. some made up role the Mets could offer
turned down a coaching role with the Mets previously so either he's moved on from wanting to manage/coach, or for now he'd prefer a role where he's not on the road much (if at all). The Mets have Cora at 3b, Wayne Kirby (Buck's right hand man) at 1b, newly promoted Eric Chavez as bench coach, Barnes/Hinske as hitting coaches and Danny Barnes as an "assistant coach". No room for another legitimate hire that would be comparable to being the Yankees 3b coach.

, there has been progress in the contract negotiations between Keith Hernandez and SNY.
The two sides are “not far apart” on a multi-year contract agreement. #LGM
And go probably may an upfront in a state of residence that isn’t CA. That said seems like he would get more than 5/100 on open market no? Heck I could see him opting for a short 3/90 or something like that.
basically Ohtani, Machado, Chapman, Nola, Scherzer (if he opts out), Javy Baez if he opts out, Conforto if he opts out, Happ, Kershaw (he's not leaving)... yikes

That's what I was thinking when I saw this.
You think Boone and his staff makes it if they dont win a world series this year?

is the Yankees 3rd base coach, can't see any incentive for him to leave given his managerial aspirations.

not questioning you, legitimately asking

...so long as this doesn't mean that the equally-awful Cam Maybin doesn't get assigned to the games earmarked for Beltrán.
I agree he is not a great listen but I think we have to cut him some slack.

He won’t be back in the Yankee booth and I honestly hope for Mets fans he isn’t somewhere in theirs.

Maybin was fired by YES
Interesting pickup. I guess Cohen is not afraid of potential controversy.

What is the issue with Coonrod? I searched about him but couldn’t find anything other than injuries.

The answer will likely result in a debate that is banned on BBI. Political/religious in nature.

Dan is 100 percent correct - if you search for “Sam Coonrod controversy”, the first result is likely your answer.

FA market is going to be TRASH next off-season
You can kind of get why offensive players were at such a premium this year.
