And one that won’t be there at 128 to boot. Two OLs but only one WR. A draft without direction or priorities.
LOL. In this mock, we draft a WR, C, RB, ILB in the first 3 rounds, how is this lacking direction or priorities? All of those positions are big time needs.

I know very, very little about college football so I won't comment on the specific picks at all.
The Giants NEED (in no particular order):
-A Starting WR who actually scares defenses
-A Second Starting CB
-Two Starting ILBs
-2-3 interior offensive linemen
-A RB (if Barkley leaves)
-Depth EVERYWHERE
Realistically the Giants will need to use some of their capspace to address areas of need, so the question is which of those needs are best solved in FA and which are best solved with the draft.... you can't just assume they'll use a high draft pick on every area of need as they don't have enough high draft picks to do that (and drafting exclusively for need is pretty much guaranteed to result in missing out on good players).
Someone told me that Schoen said somewhere last year that he doesn’t like to take injury prone players which is why Wandale was taken and not Pickens. Smith-Njigba is extremely injury prone. If there is truth to that Schoen won’t take those risks, they won’t take him.

Needs and priorities are different things. There is hardly any position that doesn’t have a need. But what Schoen showed last year was that he picked a position as a priority. Last year OL. What? Six FA and three draft picks. I believe he will have different priorities this year. My guess, WR definitely and maybe CB. Two priorities as neither of these positions require as many players to fix as the OL. Getting four different positions in the top four picks shows no commitment to definitively fix any position as a a priority. I think he’ll be more focused than that. Two WR and a CB in the first two days.
Every time a mock draft thread reads up. I think we should start a drinking game. How many experts are going to say "this guy won't last that long". Yet every year someone falls, for whatever reason.
I think they need 2 WR, 1 CB and 1 IOL in the first 4 picks
The WR corp is absolute garbage, and needs to be built up. It's very hard to find quality outside of Day 2, IMO.
Meanwhile, quality RB prospects are fairly easy to come by outside of Day 2, so using a Day 2 pick on one seems wasteful.
I also think ILB will be a UFA focus.
I think this is spot on. I’d probably go with DL over IOL but why quibble. Make sure you fix a position and our WR are the least talented group on the team if not in the league. They should be committed to rebuilding it.
That hamstring pull must have been real serious to limit
Estimated at less than $8 mil AAV, and per PFF was 5th best run blocker and 6th best pass blocker.
If you can sign a proven veteran for such a reasonable price, why use a second rounder on a rookie that may need time to develop, and take the risk he might not ever be better than Pocic?
Positional value would suggest using that pick on CB, WR or Edge since we are probably not considering OT or QB.

Sy picked him in a recent Mock Draft. The injury did not deter him, however Sy might change his mind between now and the actual draft, I’m sure.
with this particular mock draft. I don't like the first round pick. Yes we need a WR on day 1 or 2 of the draft. This is an injury prone WR. After Toney, Robinson, Shepard, and Golladay I want a reliable WR who can stay healthy. My second issue, is the failure to address the lack of drpth on the defensive line. No interior defensive lineman was selected. Third, waited too long to draft a CB. Idealky, WR and CB are Day 1 or 2 selections. I do like how the interior offensive line was addressed.

Exactly!!! ... I would say BPA on IOL or OLB (Azeez lower legs issues are a concern the pass rush changes dramatically when he goes down). But the 1st 3 of the 4 should be a WR/CB combo more than likely, I hope for 2 WRs/1 CB as well. CB in rd 1 unless a player (WR) they think highly of drops.

RB is not a big time need even if Barkley leaves.
The WR pick feels like a forced pick for need over value if the other two WRs are gone. Yes, Smith-Njigba was great in 2021 but he basically missed the entire 2022 season b/c of a hamstring. That's a major red flag.

RB isn’t a need if Barkley leaves? That isn’t accurate at all.
A wr with hamstring problems? Come on man, we have been down
WR seems deeper than CB.

Glad I wasn't the only one who winced reading this.
I get it not re-signed yet .... but it will happen question is who blinks 1st ...
Jeez louise, it's entertainment...

We need a linebacker that is good against the run first and foremost.
Also need another TE

In that case, what kind of defensive tackle, a NT or a 3-tech? A 5-tech who could play DE?

Yeah. It’s too bad there isn’t 78 more days left for them and others to re-evaluate.
