Aaron Rodgers is going on an isolation retreat that involves four days of complete darkness and silence to contemplate playing on in the NFL. Rodgers, 39, is considering his football future after the Green Bay Packers failed to reach the playoffs this year. Speaking to the PatMcAfee show, he said: 'It's four nights of complete darkness. You're not locked in, you can leave if you can't do it, you can just walk out the door. ... 'It's a room, it's a little house. There's a two-way, like a little slot where they will drop in some food for you. But it is isolation and darkness, no music, no nothing. Just myself, isolation. 'I'm still in the art of contemplation about my future. After my isolation retreat I'll be ready to make a decision.' |

He is just a strange bastard.
He is just a strange bastard.
I dunno, I like the guy.
He is/was a bit much with the football ego, but I think the guy has pain and isn't afraid to deal with it.
There's a realness to him I respect.
What a weirdo.

Not me. This stuff isn’t that serious. The media and select fans eat it all up.
& I'm sure Rodgers does some of this shit to get a rise out of people. And in that he succeeds. I just find him to be a clown & to be a QB drama queen second to Big Ben.

Holy fuck

Yes the decision to retire or not is a big deal but it stops there for me. The reality is that people don’t like how he’s going about doing it even though it’s completely harmless. It’s odd and unconventional, and that bothers people. You call it drama, I call it refreshing. To each their own.

I think if I was a Packer fan, I'd consider it'd to be 'serious' whether one of the all time great QB decides to hang it up or not.

Why is this even an issue? Some very short minded people on here/ in the world. Why do you care…and have to speak negative about it? Maybe you need some self reflection of your own.
Helluva QB. But Good God is he a pill off the field.
How is it a drama queen taking some time to yourself to think about a major decision? IMO, the "drama queens" are the ones making a big deal out of this.
The way you describe things is always off on how it happened. He didn’t going on a podcast to make some big announcement. He has a weekly spot and was asked about retirement and he answered the question. It wasn’t even the first thing they discussed in the 40+ minute segment.
Have a watch if you don’t believe me. I see a down to earth dude who seems like he’d be a really interesting person to spend a day with. He’s also wearing a shirt that I 100% need to go find and buy.
Announcement! - ( New Window )
I'm not exactly sure what you'd like him to do, he was being interviewed. I find it really odd that people take issue with this. Who cares what his process is. I think people use the drama queen label when they actually just don't care for what the person is doing. He's not holding an announcement show. He didn't retire then un-retire.
Funny, but "a hole" is what comes to my mind when I think of Aaron Rodgers.
It won't take 4 days to figure out.
It's the Cool Hand Luke method of decision making.
