yea, MAYBE then you can justify playing Cam Reddish over someone who might be a little better but has reached their vet peak.
I mean we're talking about a winning team here. 2-3 years now this team is winning more games than it loses. We are one hot streak from a really nice year and even if it stays around this 45 win course, not bad.
We lose sight of this quite often. Even myself, but once the dust from an awful heartbreaking loss settles in I always realize that this team is good.
THIS, Last year the Knicms messed up with keep Burks and playing him so much over IQ and Mcbride and others..
This year you cant say the same thing, for all the faults of Thibs and all the stuff we dont like, we have a young team winning games, 6 of the rotation pieces are drafted players..
Reddish was a miss. The FA decisions that brought in Walker and Fournier were misses. I don't lose sleep over those FA moves because they didn't really stop us from doing anything else in terms of cap space and the picks we used to dump Walker were more or less harmless, plus this regime has been adept at gathering up picks to begin with.
Knicks are competitive and developing players. They just aren't great, yet. It's hard to blast the org for that.
IQ
Grimes
McBride (jury still out but he's playing and making progress)
Mitch Robinson(wise to re-sign and not trade him)
Figuring out how to get every shred of talent out of Randle and not dumping him for trash despite half this board wantimg the KNicks to do just that.
And even better, Jalen Brunson.
We have 2 legit all star caliber players here. We are a winning team. Star power. Here. It could be a lot worse.
Oh year, tons of picks still in the coffers.
We're fine.
I like this team but they really need to turn these assets they've accumulated into something. Or at least start the ball rolling with a smaller complimentary trade for better fitting pieces for Thibs system.
The Lakers, Jazz and Timberwolves are in discussions on a three-team deal that would send D’Angelo Russell to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook and draft compensation such as a first-round pick to Utah and Mike Conley Jr. to Minnesota, sources tell me and @Tjonesonthenba.

Wow, now where does Westbrook end up on the buyout market?
Thats a good trade for Lakers because Russel is an expiring and he can play off Lebron as a shooter
OG Anunoby’s player option for the 2024-25 season and uncertainty about whether he’d re-sign with the Knicks are complicating factors in a potential Knicks-Raptors trade, per @IanBegley
Sorry more value in off season. I don’t see it happening.
Despite what folks said yesterday, Knicks can put together a competitive package for KD: Randle/Barrett and a ton of picks. Carl - do you think the Nets would ever consider trading Durant to the Knicks?

Begely mentioned on his putback show that compensation would not be the problem..

Ham & Russ reportedly went at each other last night. I can't imagine Russ was thrilled with LBJ's lamenting to Wilbon about the LAL not getting Kyrie.

Agree. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t obsessing over the big fish type move.
Eventually, we gotta turn these picks into a Moby Dick. I love Brunon & JR is having a nice season, but we're not winning the East with those two as our Batman & Robin.

We all want that, and that's what they want too. Fans get frustrated because that guy isn't really out there. OG is nice but he's not actually what you want to move planets for.
Can't make a star come available, and you don't want to fall in love with not-stars just because they're available. They're somewhat a victim of finally fixing the franchise at a time where the window for grabbing a superstar is not really open.
They were close on Mitchell but dealing with one of the hardest to deal with GMs in the league.
No one wants to hear you tried and didn't get it done but sometimes that's really it.
Playing with two all stars makes them a destination and they have picks and talent to work with. I love where they're at but I get why patience is short.
I do think they need to be very aggressive when their target is there.
"Although the two teams have discussed a potential trade, as HoopsHype reported over the weekend, some people in New York’s front office aren’t sold on Vanderbilt’s and Beasley’s fit with the current roster, Begley explains."
the Knicks won’t do much at the deadline. He does seem confident Reddish will get dealt (insinuates they have offers) but the Knicks will take it right up until the deadline to get the best possible return

Woj actually reported it on NBA today just before Shams tweeted it
I do to

No and he doesn't want to be here anyways.

Wes and Randle should sit front row like the Dallas/Utah playoff game.

Gary Trent
Doug McDermott
Josh Richardson
My guesses

Is OG even playing tonight though. Cause if he’s still out with an injury it can’t be him they’re looking at

Yeah thats true, i dont know, is it weird a Knicks scout is there or reading to much into it?
LAL-Russell,
Utah-Westbrook and a 1 to the Jazz
Wolves-Conley
Beasley and Vanderbilt "potentially" also in the deal to LAL.
