Could the #Ravens trade QB Lamar Jackson? After he receives the franchise tag, a windfall of draft picks could tempt Baltimore to consider a deal. |
He’s looking for a fully guaranteed contract similar to Watson which would end the discussion right there for me. However, he’s 49-21 as a starter and he’s won a MVP.
To those who think Jones is limited and don’t want to pay him upwards of $40M AAV, is Jackson an option to upgrade the position? He’s only 26.

How can you rebuild with that? He wants a passing offense also and who's he throwing to here? And how do you go about acquiring them? Draft is the only way in those circumstances.
I think, they think, they already did that.

Bingo!
What would be the jump point 3 first?
I mean if you trade for him you have a franchise QB for the next 10 years and one that can carry a team because of his ability to run and improvise. I don't see how The Ravens could let him walk unless you get the Texans to bite and get the 2nd pick this year plus.
+1.
And I say that respectfully.
Due to his style of play he will not have a long NFL career plus he hasn't played well in the postseason. Hard pass
Spot on
So they should just pay a huge contract to a lesser QB?
Still, I have to imagine Daboll could develop and create quite an offense with this guy...

Yeah it would be awesome with nobody in it because we gave up 4 first round picks and are paying him $50/year guaranteed. Very savvy roster construction.
$50 mill for 5/6 years guaranteed vs $35 mill for 3(?). Yes that is close.
It isn’t that Jones is better versus the compensation Baltimore would look for plus Jackson’s salary demands exceeding the difference in QB play.
Brilliant!

I answered the question as if I were a GM, not necessarily the Giants GM. That said, your position on Jones is well-known.
