But they still have probably the best QB in the NFC, best WR duo in NFC, top 3-4 TE, and likely the best Oline (though it’s getting older)
Philly will be able to score points next year. Only losses on that side of the ball are Seamulo and Sanders - both easily replaceable IMO.
Defensively, they are a bit of a mess - They do have Dean and Jordan Davis ready to step in, and Reddick/Sweat are still there. But the secondary is thin. Having two firsts will help, but I’d expect their defensive rankings to drop quite a bit next year.
Slay has a $26 million dollar cap hit but the Eagles only save $5 million if they cut him due to previous restructures. The only way to save more is if they are able to work out a trade.
Slay will be 33 next season so no team will be willing to give up high pick and take on that large cap hit.
If Slay is gone the Eagles will lose both of their starting CB's.
The difference here may be that Slay has to engineer the trade
they'll probably get a first for him. The Eagles will be in the top tier of the NFC again.
Not only will they not be the top of the NFC, I think it's a very real possibility they miss the playoffs.
Lost OC and DC, and likely to lose most if not all of:
Bradberry
Slay
Hargrave
CJ Gardner-Johnson
TJ Edwards
Isaac Seumalo
And then possibly some of:
Dillard
Kelce
Seumalo
Graham
Teams go from first in division to missing playoffs often enough to begin with, nevermind losing THAT amount of talen.
From your mouth to gods ears my friend, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet you are very wrong.
Yeah. Not writing eagles off. They may take a step back but we’re pretty dominant. Maybe more like a 11-6 or 12-5 team. Think we can close the gap so our games aren’t over in the first quarter. But there is a ten players differential here
And I hate the eagles
It’s more like wishful thinking at this point. Yeah they’ll lose guys, but they’re so well run they’ll replace what they lose. In the end, they’ll win the East again. Until it actually doesn’t happen, that’s what I’m expecting. It fucking sucks, but it is what it is.
i think this is a smart thing for teams to do and the nyg should be willing to do the same with jackson/williams (just like they did with bradberry last year).
it's a lot easier to think you are going to get paid a ton when you aren't hearing directly from other teams what they aren't willing to trade for you and pay you. grass is usually not greener.

If there's a franchise that can reload and weather losing name players, it's that putrid team. 2 out of the last 5 years everyone said they were in a full blown rebuild, and coincidentally they were a playoff team.
It's just not wise to project them fizzling out. The only thing that's going to stop that team is if their lines lose their depth...but I doubt Howie will allow that to happen. Theyve built the right model for sustained success...
And it makes me sick. The Giants need to compete in the trenches...we got a lot of the pieces at the top of the depth chart right, now they need to feed the pipeline with rotational DT/edge and some bullies on the OL.
Slay was not the same player the second half of the season as he was the first. His play tailed off.
So, if you sense a player is closing in on his expiration date, give him permission to find a new home. New England was great at this when Belichick felt a player had peaked.
I wish we would do this with LW. I sense he is very close to his peak.
He’s 32, I don’t think they are getting a first.

They get firsts for everyone. Remember Sam Bradford lol

Add Miles Sanders to that list. He is likely not returning.

If I am any GM in the NFL....and Roseman calls.....I treat him like a scammer. He already got the Titans GM fired.

No one is giving up a first and paying that contract . Not one team.

I heard they may get 2 firsts for him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles cut him and just save the 3.7 million. The Eagles don’t fall in love with players.
And Philly aren't getting comp picks for either Slay or Bradberry.

I heard that Cleveland was willing to give up two number 1's and fully-guarantee his contract.

One writer, maybe Zeirlein, felt they’d go CB at 10 AND 30.
Let's wait for the cut and return the favor;)

He's old and not as good as everyone thinks. Philly fans will tell you he hadn't made a play since Week 8.
The facts are whenever their defense played a competent offense, their corners (and back 7) were exposed.
They are probably better off starting over with younger corners to be honest.

LOL, nor a corner at that age.
Mike Haynes he is not..........for you old timers.
