The Jets have restructured the contracts of G Laken Tomlinson, CB DJ Reed and TE Tyler Conklin, creating $15.2M in cap space for 2023, per source.

The Jets jave some nice skill players, but they are overrated in many positions and need to infuse talent. Plus their headcoach doesn't look good and may only have 1 year left. So what to do, lets add an aging "ex-superstar" who is a malecontent and decides at the beginning of every season if he's playing or retiring. Sounds perfect. Next season this time they could be without a HC and still with no QB.

What has Love done to deserve praise? Also their wide receivers are just as bad as the Giants. They need more than fixing the offensive line.
And it can’t be designated post June 1. They have #24m in cap space but unless there is some contractual give back by Rogers that’s quite the price to pay.
I do not envision this working out well for the Jets
unless the picks aren't what I think they will be(2 firsts). First off, Tom Brady is not the norm. Guys usually don't play at an elite level into their 40's and there is a HUGE difference between Brady and Rodgers. Brady is one of the best winners in the history of football, if not the best winner. Rodgers is quite the opposite.
Rodgers is on the decline and will not be the same guy without the high end arm talent like Brady can be.
From the Jets perspective, I get why they think it makes sense. They have a major weakness on offense and on paper, this fills that hole. However, it's not that simple. These guys don't know how to win and win consistently. That takes time to learn and they don't have time. Rodgers is coming to a perennial loser, not a team thats won games and just needs a QB.
The Jets defense was good, but not elite. Hall is good, but now coming off an ACL(how'd barkley look his first year back?). Wilson looks good, but he's young and inexperienced. The OL hasn't been great. They are up against the cap.
I don't think this will work and it will set the Jets back.

If Wilson gets cut I think he might be a good reclamation project to see if Kafka can get him "fixed" and then flip him after he fills in for Jones if Jones is injured. What has Love done to deserve praise? Also their wide receivers are just as bad as the Giants. They need more than fixing the offensive line.
Rodgers is on the decline and will not be the same guy without the high end arm talent like Brady can be.
From the Jets perspective, I get why they think it makes sense. They have a major weakness on offense and on paper, this fills that hole. However, it's not that simple. These guys don't know how to win and win consistently. That takes time to learn and they don't have time. Rodgers is coming to a perennial loser, not a team thats won games and just needs a QB.
The Jets defense was good, but not elite. Hall is good, but now coming off an ACL(how'd barkley look his first year back?). Wilson looks good, but he's young and inexperienced. The OL hasn't been great. They are up against the cap.
I don't think this will work and it will set the Jets back.
I suspect that 30 year run of HOF QB’s is going to come to a crashing halt. Love will be, at best, serviceable, but I don’t see an other-worldly talent.

It baffles me as to why people give a shit of what is said on talk radio (and I’ve worked in and around radio most of my 40 year career). Their entire game plan is to get people riled up, so they put callers on who will say things to do that.
I have a bunch of friends who are Jets fans, they are far more likely to be “woe is me” than talking trash.

this is a win/win for both teams. Rodgers can still play at a high level, just look at his back to back MVP's in 20/21. Rodgers has been frustrated at leaderships lack of getting him weapons and then trades the best WR in the game with no replacement. The Packers haven't drafted a first round WR since 2002 with Javon Walker.
Jets are built to win now and will bend over backwards to get Rodgers whatever he needs.
Packers can start Love and continue doing what they've been found. Without the cap hit.

If Wilson gets cut I think he might be a good reclamation project to see if Kafka can get him "fixed" and then flip him after he fills in for Jones if Jones is injured. Not a Jones hater at all, but he has missed games every season of his career so far for one reason or another, so no reason to think that will change.

To me the question and the real drama is managing Rodgers. I could see LaFleur just hating Rodgers. i think the whole org likely hated him (not the players). Dude is HARD to manage. How Saleh will handle that will be huge.

i dont think rodgers is going to be a small commitment and his window is what? 1 year? it sounds like he came real close to calling it quits this year.
lamar probably costs at least 2x overall but at 26 years old he gives you a window 3-5x longer. and the jets are pretty young roster.

Yeah, he somehow had some issues dealing with the Green Bay media at times. I mean, how can someone have a tough time with the Green Bay media? Can't wait for Rodgers to realize the OL is mediocre, he was one true weapon to throw the ball to (Wilson), and not much else. Wait until he starts getting sacked. Going to be fun to see the finer-pointing game start.

They're all amazing All Pro's for sure. Look at all the success they've led the Jets to since being here. And why compare them to the Giants? The Giants still went way further than the Jets last year even with the Jets having all of this amazing talent. Funny how that works, dipshit.
