I don't know why I thought it would take 2 firsts, I must've heard it on the radio. That would be terrible, 1 first would be bad and anything less than that would be ok, IMO. Worth the risk if your're the Jets at anything less than a first, IMO.
Outside of Wilson, there isn't much there on offense at all. Add to that a mediocre OL and an old, past his prime Rodgers, and their offense can be had.
oh stop. they have 3 wrs and 2 tight ends and rb that was on his way to roomie of the year.
LOL. Sure, they do. The BBI contingent that talks up the Jets every season only for them to miss the playoffs every year since 2010. The BBI midas touch.
yea thats me always talking about the jets when I post 2x a week. clown. Wilson, Moore, Davis, Conklin and Uzomah are better than any giant at those positions and if you dont think so, then again you are a clown
They're all amazing All Pro's for sure. Look at all the success they've led the Jets to since being here. And why compare them to the Giants? The Giants still went way further than the Jets last year even with the Jets having all of this amazing talent. Funny how that works, dipshit.
this response makes 0 sense. so they arent talented becauee they werent all pros and didnt go to the playoffs without an nfl qb? youre a fucking clown

I'm being sarcastic. Not surprised that you can't figure that out, dickless.
Too bad for the Packers. Jets shouldn’t have to give up much, especially if taking on that contract- however they restructure it.
It will be entertaining.
BTW- Klecko was against it thinking Rodgers is a terrible teammate for young receivers like Wilson, Mims and Moore. Though we as basing it on the body language that Rodgers showed with the Pack. Eye rolls and shrugs for every missed ball etc.
they had young ones and Rodgers being passive-aggressive, didn't want to go work out with them and help them develop.
And he has been known to throw balls to where he wants the WR’s not where they are even if the WR is open. Also audibling out of run plays to pass plays especially in red zone.
The Jets went 7-10 last year and most people say with a good QB they would have won 10 games. What people forget is that they won 2 games they should have lost against Cleveland and Pittsburgh so very easily could have been a 5 win team as well. Point is they still need a lot of improvements in other areas. They very well may get a playoff spot but selling out for 2 years of mediocrity such as 9/10 wins and a playoff slot is going to dump this team back in a hole in 2 years. They still have to beat out KC, Cincy, Buffalo and SD not to mention Jacksonville for the forseeable future all very good teams with young studs at QB

Correct. This move will take away at least 1 first, if not more as well as a significant amount of cap space. Someone mark it down, this isn't going to work and will set the Jets back drastically.

I one won roomie of the year. it was during college and I worked part time in a liquor store. Liquor stores closed in CT at 8pm back then and I was a hero every time I came home from work with all my roommates orders
not just roomie of the year, but roomie HOF.
Man, took me a few to figure out where you were going
no way Rodgers wants to be a part of the clown show Jets. Woody Johnson? Douglas and Saleh who drafted Milf Hunter #2 and immediately proceeded to torpedo his development? Hackett, the guy who derailed Mr. Unlimited's HoF chances? Firemen Ed? Drunken Joe Namath interviewed for some reason and slurring insults at you when you have a bad game?

It’s a risk you take IMO. Chances are “building the right way” isn’t making you a favorite against the chiefs. So if you aren’t going to try and get an X factor, you are likely going to be a team the Chiefs and Bills, and Bengals run through when push comes to shove. And thats if things go well - if the Jets go with another rookie who stinks that’s an even bigger waste.
Either Joe Klecko and Nameth or both, I forget, did not think he would be a good idea because of his me first attitude and likley negative influence over the younger players in the locker room
It wasn't Namath. He said that Rodgers can wear his #12 and they can un-retire it for him. It was probably Klecko. This has Favre 2.0 written all over it. Rodgers will make the Jets better, no question, but he also showed he was kind of a choker in the big spot for years with more talented Packers teams (and he was younger).
This is kind of typical Woody Johnson. He saw the Giants suddenly come out of no where and make the playoffs. He needs an upgrade now to compete for eyeballs in NYC. Salah needs to win or he's gone, maybe same for Douglas. So this is your typical short term move to hot shot a title. Now, we saw it work for Tampa w/ Brady & Stafford in LA. But the difference is, both of those were NFC teams, a much easier road to get to the Super Bowl. Even with Rodgers, the Jets are still behind KC, Cincy and still probably Buffalo. In the end, they will get Rodgers. They will make the playoffs. And get bounced in the 2nd round. But that keeps Douglas/Salah alive, which I suppose then is worth it to the Jets, until they are in a total rebuild in 2 years.
We'll see how it all unfolds but this makes sense for the Jets. They are ready to win now. They have a really good defense, running game, and weapons on O. It doesn't sound like the compensation will be that much so they can use their picks to build up the OL more. I wouldn't be so quick to put Cincinnati above the Jets. The Jets can be the best team in the AFC. Odds are they won't be. The field is obviously the better bet but it wouldn't surprise me to see the Jets as a top team in the AFC and make noise in the playoffs. I am not crazy about Hackett though. We'll see.
would be interesting watch

Rodgers seemed on downside last yr
He also has to get in better shape. Looked more like a 50 yr old in shape than a 38 yr old
I really don’t like it on the Jets end. I would have tried harder to get Carr. Rodgers is at the end and is a head case. The daily media will eat at Rodgers. The Jets OL isn’t great either. They have a good nucleus but I don’t see this being more than a 1 year shot. I think the Jets will implode again.
and I don't know what the pundits are saying, but I don't see why a rebuilding team would even take on the salary of a 40-yr-old QB, much less give up draft picks for him.

God why do I always read twitter comments and then deeply regret it. There's a poll asking if the Jets should trade Sauce for Rogers.
Hard pass.
Wasn't Favre doing well his first season there before he got hurt and didn't tell anyone?
They really should have went after Carr -
Probably not but they will be competitive AF.

I also think Rodgers would explode after one year of the New York media spotlight. I am not sure he's wired for it.
