Giants are gonna be big players in the DL/LB market. Been in constant contact with Agent gaging market. Biggest names to watch are Zach Allen formerly of Arizona, David Long Jr., Dalvin Tomlinson, A’Shawn Robinson, Dean Lowry, Demarcus Walker, Azeez Al-Shaair, Anthony Walker, Bobby Okereke and Germaine Pratt.
Giants also looking to add a CB. Inquired on Marcus Peters, Byron Murphy, Greedy Williams (brother of Rodarius), and Jamal Dean.
Giants looking to Resign their IOL (Gates and Feliciano) continue to add young pieces through draft.
Giants looking to add TE depth. Interest in Dan Arnold formerly of Jacksonville.

Rumor: Giants are closing in on a trade for WR Jerry Jeudy. Giants 2nd attempt at acquiring the Wideout. #TogetherBlue
Is that a reliable account?
I think he's tracking this thread and posting.

Gotch ya. Thanks!
He was a FA anyways.
Give them a 2024 2nd
Which will essentially be a 3rd after we win the Super Bowl:)
That account on 1/23 posted “Giants closing in on a 4 yr 56mil deal with Barkley”
It’s clearly a fan/speculation account with 0 sources
Seems really low comp for BA
Would LOVE this...but i'm thinking SF can fetch alot more.....
I think it gets done tomorrow.
I think we can find a guy in the draft this year that will be effective in our offense. Hopefully the value lines up; it's always a bit tricky as WR like QB can often get pushed up higher due to team needs. But we'll have to see how that plays out - and if the pick doesn't line up w/talent when we're on the clock, don't force it. Never good to force a 'need' pick.
why trade your best receiver for a 2nd round pick? saving 4m isn't a good reason.

It makes sense if they plan on not paying him after this contract. And Russ damn sure is taking up a lot of cap space...
No way I’d give up a 3 and 5 for Elijah Moore. He’s decent but extremely overrated here on BBI. Also, this is a dude that demanded a trade and left the team for awhile last year because he wasn’t getting the ball enough. No thanks.

he makes 4m and had his best year last year. 3 of his best games were in the last month, after they decided to hold him at the deadline presumably because nobody would meet their price. and before they hired sean payton and decided to clearly go for it asap.

he is under contract this year cheap, and next year reasonably (less than sutton who is non-gtd then). they could save more this year by offloading sutton or tim patrick.
jeudy is healthier, more productive, and 4-5 years younger than both of them. the only reason for him to be odd man out is if he can bring back something significant in a trade.
I am not expecting a lot in FA ILB* stop gap 1 to 2 years S (love or otherwise) a tier 2 vet at WR or TE.
*Maybe he does something there semi-splashy but it should be a magical contract.
Ha ... I like it so far....lol
Now if you're asking me who I prefer - it's Jeudy all day. I'd probably still prefer Jeudy at a 2 over Sutton at a 3+. That comp seems way too light and the Broncos priority in a trade seems to have flipped with Jeudy coming on late and the coaching change.
I've been checking in on this thread a handful of times a day, guilty.

considered a 1?
More important question, which one has better speed and separation skills, as that is what JD said they look for from the WR spot
Neither is a burner, but Jeudy is an elite route runner. There are other ways than pure speed to create separation. I’d prefer Jeudy, I think he is starting to figure things out, but Sutton would be a nice add too.
But with one year left on his deal, what does a WR on an expiring contract fetch in a trade? A WR (by his draft slot) has underperformed.

also if we are comparing to what's avail in UFA, jeudy would be the #1 UFA by far and probably get at least as much as christian kirk last year - probably more.
which would be a lot more than OBJ gets, who is probably the best UFA WR (or meyers).
Sutton and Hopkins are each more comparable in value with OBJ. All 3 are on the older end with injury questions but talented enough to have 1 or 2 big years for someone.
the rest of the market for the most part is role players. none of the above are no-brainers (unless jeudy is really available cheap).

he has 2 years left at 17m total if they pick up his 5yo which they almost definitely will do.

I think you captured just about every variable in the equation. The one other one is behind the scenes stuff we may not know about. Maybe there is some acrimony there for one reason or another.
But short of that, moving Sutton makes so much more sense. They are tight against the cap and his contract is much bigger than Jeudy's. He's also coming off an injury and hasn't quite looked as explosive as he has in the past.
Now Jeudy is 1 year away from a 5th year option that would make him a bit more costly and they could likely get a pretty good WR with a 2nd round pick. But I agree I just don't see them giving away Jeudy for anything less than a 2 at this point. Sutton maybe.

being the route runner of the two, feels like the better fit. JS was just quoted on saying we need WRs that get open.

good point, forgot about the 5th year option.

I have nothing to add on the FA front but the Giants are very engaged in the trade market for WR's and TE's.
Draft wise the only name I've heard thus far is Zay Flowers but its still early on that front.
Schoen's working the phones. Wouldn't be surprised to see a big trade happen.
I am wondering if Evans in TB will become available as well as Davis (Buff), Jeudy (Den), Hopkins ( AZ, already known trade possibility), Waller TE (LV), Davis/Mins (NYJ), Bateman (Balt), Pittman (Indy) and Ayiuk (SF).
Good list. LV is a team to watch. Over the target on Waller.
Good call Grit!
