Rutgers beat Purdue, that alone with the rest of their resume as a Big 10 team should have given them a bid. Lunardi had them as the 65th team in the field, almost in the last 4 byes.
Oklahoma State played in the best conference in the country, the Big 12. They probably deserved a spot over a team like Pittsburgh.
Duke and Texas A&M were underseeded, and I think Duke is on upset watch against Oral Roberts.
UConn is also on upset watch vs. Iona. That game is in Albany and both teams' fans will be well represented
a one seed twice...how could they not see that..incredible
It’s a huge win but Rutgers also had a batch of just terrible losses. Some of that was due to bad luck with injuries/illness affecting rotation during that slide.
Pikiell has program in good spot still for next few seasons. I think they’ll be back in next year.
Think about it... they beat Purdue a one seed and nearly beat them again in the conference tourney and you are gonna tell me they do not belong in the tourney? I will have what you are smoking...their NET of 40

Beat NC St. three times this season and NC St. gets an at large bid.
I'd really love to know the criteria of NC St over Clemson. Same overall record. Clemson beat them head to head three times, including this week to make it to the conference semifinals and they had a better conference record too.
Makes no sense. 23 wins for Clemson and it isn't good enough.
he said Rutgers suffered a key injury in early February and there were enough games after that to see if they were the same team as before that injury, and the Committee concluded they weren't the same team. Don't shoot the messenger - I don't even know who they are referring to - just reporting what the guy said about Rutgers.
How does Kansas get a one seed and Texas a 2 after Texas beat Kansas
If Texas can get by A&M (or Penn State), the path is there.
I think the East is the regional that implodes. Purdue is the weakest 1 and Arizona or UCLA should be the 2s in that region. May end up with Duke or Memphis there.
UConn got a lot of love. Just about every one of the talking heads predicted Elite 8, some Final 4 and I think one had them going all the way. Haven't really followed CBB close enough to know, but I found it interesting.
are Hawkins actually showing up and Sanogo staying out of foul trouble. This team has fallen in love with the 3pt. Shot. When they struggle from the outside they lose. Had Hawkins shown up in the Marquette game, they would have won the Big East and gotten a #3 seed. Their inconsistency makes me struggle thinking they would get past sweet 16.
7 wins against the field including one of the best wins of all NCAA tournament teams winning AT #1 seed Purdue. They cite not playing well after the Mawot Mag injury as the main reason for being left out, but if the committee actually watched the Big Ten tournament they would have seen that Rutgers got back to early season form beating Michigan with stifling defense that allowed just one FG in the first 19 min of the second half and playing Purdue super tough losing by 5 thanks to the insertion of freshman Derek Simpson in the lineup.

I dont agree with it but the reason is their non-conference schedule. I forget the exact stat but Lunardi said it over the weekend. The committee has never put in an at large team with a non conference schedule as weak as Clemson's was. He kept saying all weekend they were going to be out because of that precedent and he was right
That's asinine. NC State doesn't move the needle at all ratings wise. Clemson didn't make it because of their non-conference schedule. That's it. No one needs to guess or in this case make up reasons, we know why.
Furman and C of C are good picks. Virginia's style of play makes them ripe for another early round upset. Furman is a good team.
blah blah blah blah blah
Furman's not a particularly good 3pt shooting team. Their offense is based on shooting an insanely high percentage on two point shots - #1 in the country, actually. That isn't going to happen against the Hoos. They also don't have a defender with the length to stop Jayden Gardner. Gardner was on a serious roll before the Duke game. Duke's huge height advantage was a big problem for him, but there's only one guy over 6'7" in Furman's rotation, and he's a stringbean type who will be giving up 40 pounds to Gardner.
Anything can happen, but I'm not particularly worried about Furman.
One thing that has become crystal clear in recent years - if you're going to play a really weak nonconference schedule, it's going to be held against you. Look at Iowa, who got in, and compare to Rutgers, who didn't. Their resumes are nearly identical, except for one thing: noncon schedule strength. Iowa played 5 Q1/2 teams out of conference, Rutgers only played one.

Oral Roberts is legit good. I think they and VCU could make runs.
A month ago I would have thought their chances to win the ACC Tournament were slim to none. Since they lost to Miami and the game after where the refs made the incorrect ruling at the end of the game vs UVA, Scheyer has done a fantastic job with that team the last six regular season games and the ACCT. Their defense has improved dramatically from the beginning of ACC play. Playing their best basketball right now.
Hard to believe any loss by Rutgers could be as bad as that.

Agree on Oral Roberts. Especially with the 7’5 center. But duke is crazy hot with momentum.
No way UCONN loses.

Hubert Davis...uh...I don't think he's that good of a coach.

And how the hell did the Big Ten tie for the most teams?

How did Michigan get hosed? They lost to Rutgers in the opening game of the B10 Tourney and finished 17-15 this year....
